Well, you have to look at it from our perspective. If us mechanics allow others to use our shop for a reduced rate then we would kinda be defeating the purpose of having the shop in the first place. Lets be realistic. I mean I have never met you before and I'm supposed to say, "Sure! I'll give a complete stranger access to all my tools and parts. No problem!"
It's like a total stranger asking you if they can use your garage to fix their car, boat, RV etc... Where do you draw the line?
You see it really doesn't sound good if you look at it from my side of it. Besides that if I'm gonna stand out there and coach you and let you use my tools I'd charge the same price I would if you just let me fix it because my time is my time. I'd like to say yes because I'm a nice guy but I'd have to meet you first. Also, it would have to wait a couple of weeks because I also do home improvement work and I have two fairly big jobs coming up next week and I have a scooter sitting on my bench in pieces that has to be assembled and tuned within that time as well so I'm booked up for a while.

Ahhh, Hollywood. The guys trying to make a living Dude. It really isn't very hard to install a BBK. A basic set of tools will almost do it. You'll have to borrow a torque wrench or rent one. I would also be skeptical of any kit, for a QMB139, that calls itself a 100cc kit. They just don't make them that big. A so called 72CC has a 47mm bore and isn't 72cc, it's only 67.3. An 80cc kit has a 50mm bore and is only like 76.5cc. Do the 80 kit. Airsal makes a nice one. Or if that's too pricey, do Enviro's 72. Or get one locally from Fox.

No I totally understand trying to make a living. I also understand letting a total stranger access to your shop...but that's why I offered to pay something, that way, it's business. we should definately meet first. and it wouldn't be until like later in february when i can afford to buy parts. if i just pay you to do it, can i at least watch/help?

I can't speak for Fox, but I know I do "safer" work alone. Less distractions to forget something. It's kind of an "in the zone" thing with me.
