Hi fellas, just figured I'd show Y'all a little project I'm working on since it's a pretty cool scooter. Older Yamaha Zuma Pre-bug with 70cc BBK, Dell'orto 21 (clone), Polini intake, Doppler pipe, Malossi Upgear, Str8 naked bars, RFY shock, and Blue tires!
About a month ago I ran an ad on Craigslist for scooter repair/tuning for a short while as an experiment. I only ran the ad for about two weeks and did a handful of repair jobs. It actually wasn't too bad and I haven't had any negative experiences and the extra $$ ocassionaly is nice but I'm usually pretty busy with flip scoots that I can work on my own hours as I choose so I decided the scoot repair stuff just wasn't for me. I gotta tell ya- if you live in the Tampa, FL area there is a huge void to be filled as there's tons of scooters around and it seems only a few places that will even work on them. I keep hearing of horror stories about the places that will work on them just basically not even knowing what their doing and one fella told me he got charged $300 for an oil change, valve adjustment, and headlight replacement! The guy had a huge puddle of oil under his scooter in the Autozone parking lot from that repair shop as he was telling me the story haha.
So I've been turning down some of the repair requests but one fella must've saved my # and got ahold of me and practically begged me to work on his PreBug Zuma. He said he saw the pic with the two Prebugs that I owned with Leo Vince pipes etc. and just knew I was the one he wanted to do his work. Well, after he described his scoot he caught my interest with this little beast and I now have it in my garage doing a handful of things to it. The guy dropped it off at my house and we talked about the issues and he stuffed $100 into my hand "just to get started" The last thing he said before he left is that he wants it to be able to spank his bosses 150cc Ruckus. I told him I'm not a huge 4t fan and I'd do my best to get this baby ripping and take down that Ruckus! I have named this scooter "Ruckus Eater" lol. One of the first things I mentioned about taking down a 150cc 4t with this thing is the gear ratio and how it'd be limited to around 45mph without an upgear. He already has a Malossi gear installed! I've had the CVT cover a few times fixing the kickstart but still haven't checked the final drive ratio...

Here's an update video I made for the owner:
