Brent, Just checked PayPal - looks like I have missed my monthly donation four times so far this year. Going to blame it on surgery and recovery issues. Missed months JAN, APR, JUL, AUG. JAN was my three week hospital visit, APR was just a missed month during my six month normal recovery time and JUL and AUG was the added two months of extended recovery.
I was released the end of AUG and actually got to work a few days on my ET2 - still screwing around with my handlebar configuration. I added hand guards before going into the hospital and a fly-screen after the hospital. The fly-screen addition caused a rework of the hand guards and the handlebar covers. As it stands right now, the original ET2 handlebar width of 710mm has increased to 811mm. However, my actual grip/hand position has only increase by about 10mm.
I am just about finished with my limited case and cylinder port matching project. And I got a good start on mapping out the upgrade to the ET2 electrical system. I am currently bogged down with what to do with the Piaggio flywheel/magneto and voltage regulator/rectifier.
The existing Piaggio flywheel/magneto has a six coil stator - one source coil, three coils for the Delta wire 3-Phase regulated 12 volt AC output and two coils for rectified/regulated 12volt DC output. Most of the scooters lighting utilizes the regulated 12 volt AC output - Headlight High/Low Beam, High beam indicator, Sidelights, Dash lights, Running lights, Tail light and Auto-Choke. The Turn Signals, Horn, Fuel and Oil Senders, and Battery Charging are the only things that utilize the rectified/regulated 12 volt DC.
The existing voltage regulator/rectifier handles the 12volt DC rectifying/regulating, the 12volt AC regulating. It also has an integrated turn signal flasher and oil level warning indicator test circuit. I would like to upgrade the ET2 electrical system to a 12volt DC system. This would require a voltage regulator/rectifier change. Most likely a rewinding of the five stator coils and a change in rotor or at least the magnet size. I think the source coil should be OK - I bought the MALOSSI TC Unit K15/Magnet - it is designed to utilize the existing Piaggio source coil output.
I also bought a KOSO D64 speedometer, a KOSO DL-02R tachometer, an AEM X-Series Wideband UEGO AFR Sensor Controller Gauge w/Bosch LSU4.9 UEGO Sensor, and a EPMAN Exhaust Temperature Gauge. I have a little concern that the existing Piaggio DC system will not provide a consistent DC voltage levels to support the AFR. So this is about as far as I am willing to go with adding anymore DC goodies until I have a direction to go with the flywheel/magneto.
I am going to be free of doctors until mid-OCT when I have to go in for a nasty checkup procedure. If all is OK with the check up I will be free for the rest of this year and just maybe this five year cycle of dealing with them will be over. And, I will be able to finish my scooter project.
Anyway back on subject - I am sorry for the over sight and will go ahead and pickup three months of back donations this month and pickup two more next month. That should get me back on track.
Thank you, larry

Thanks a bunch lobarrett! I wish you the best with your health. Can't wait to see your scoot complete. I've never seen anywhere near your attention to detail in any other scooter... or possibly anything ever.

What a great use of a living room, my dog would complain though its his room. Hmmm, maybe a dining room workshop would be better. Now to build that handicap ramp so I can get the scoot in the house.

Now that is a clean workshop. Real handy when you need to chill, heat or wash a part.

Brent, Looks like I am caught up with the monthly donations. With only two months to go in 2017 it about time, you say. You need to start an end of year drive - a $1 Dollar telethon. Thanks for all you do to make 49ccScoot.com the best. larry
