That's good info to know, I had no idea they all bled you for such a high percentage. Sounds like cash or a check through the mail would net you (the forum) more $$

I've been sending my donations on PayPal via the "friends and family" option, which should avoid any fees...that's strange that it's still charging you. Maybe because it's linked to a business account or something?
I just cancelled my Patreon subscription for personal reasons and will using PayPal from now on. I guess I'll just set a reminder in my phone or something to remind me to make a contribution.
In my opinion, there's a big difference between asking for money and informing people of ways to support. To say "You can support me by subscribing, liking, sharing, or making a donation" is different from asking for money. A lot of people probably would be love to show support financially, but just simply do not know it's an option. You put in a lot of work between the forum, videos, contests, and so on. Not to mention the actual work being performed as the subject for your videos. It's just like the tip jar at the ice cream shop. You don't have to tip the person muscling your ice cream out of a five gallon vat, but if you'd like to, there's the jar where you can do it kind of thing. Also, today's society is starting to see the value of things made by individuals in media and is more and more willing to pay to avoid the corruption and deception that comes along with paywalls. I use and ad blocker on YouTube, so you're not getting any ad revenue from me (and I've watched most of your videos), so I get to choose where the money made from my attention goes. Rather than supporting some conglomerate channel or website, I like my money to go to folks like you. I'm not well off by any means, but if I like you, I'll always buy you a cup of coffee, but I need to know that I can.
Sorry to get all preachy and rambly, but when I see people putting in work for less reward than seems reasonable, I get passionate and shit haha.

Ever thought of using Venmo or something lie that? Maybe even just for folks on the forum or something? Shit, I'll mail you a check once a month or something haha! Just hate seeing the small donations I give eaten up by high fees.

It's really just bad on PayPal for people trying to give me $1. If you donate $10, I will get more than $9 of it.
I think if you send as a friend it won't take fees. I don't think Ken's last donation had anything taken out. I try to be legit, so I don't ask for people to send anything as a friend/family/gift or whatever and again it's not awful once you get past that first dollar.
I've never looked into Venmo, but I'll check it out.

Okay cool. I’m just going to set a reminder and throw you a couple bucks via PP “friendly” donation then haha.
I still say you should announce the option in your videos though. Give it a shot on your next one! Don’t like it, stop. You deserve it.

I'm glad you explained the fee structure for paypal. I didn't know anything about the "Friends and Family" option. I didn't use it this time, but I'll try to remember to use it in the future. Good to know that one large donation is better than several small donations. Learn something new every day. Oh, BTW, I really like the 49cc.com tee shirt i bought. Good product, good price.

Thanks 90gtvert. This forum and it's member's have been an immense help. Heck, I don't even own a scoot (yet), and everyone has been more than welcoming. It's not much but I donated $20.
I was in a bad place when I first joined (think chemo and surgery). This place took my mind off of being sick, and got me outside wrenching on my daughter's mina-clone atv.

Can they make this website Secure? I notice that I says "NOT Secure" at the top in my browser. I'm new here. I was trying to figure out a place to ask?

I have no control over proboards (where the forum is hosted). As for 49ccScoot.Com; I haven't spent the money to buy a certificate because I'm not asking for any sort of data that needs to be secured. The biggest reason that I may end up paying annually to have https instead of http is that search engines and browsers are making it seem like you're in danger if a site doesn't use https and changing search rankings.
