Well these little guys have been out here since I moved in to my new apartment on the 2nd of this month. Ive been leaving the porch light turned off at night, since this nest is about 2 feet from it, up at the top of a pillar right outside my front door. about 4 feet from it. The two adult wrens tending to them seem to have become used to me, they now fly in and out of the nest even if I'm right there. the babies are super camera shy. Which I find funny because for the past 2 days, every time I go out my front door, instead of hiding they all sit up and beg like I have food. hehe. Well I finally got a couple photos of them today. They aren't good pics by any means, but it looks like there are 5 little wrens in there. Its so funny - they'll sit right up and chirp at me but as soon as I pull out my camera phone they duck and cover

I have had a pair return to my home for the last 10 yrs. They know me and son. Anybody else come's near the nest they raise hell and make you know they are pissed. They are good parents, they constantly clean and feed there young.
Every year the male, I believe arrives first. He sits on his nest and sings till his mate arrives. then they get busy and get the nest in order, they are on my back porch and are not bothered by my activities. When the young hatch... They go into overdrive. Catching any bug they can.
I can tell when the young are about to fly the coop, the mother becomes very protective and scalds you for getting to close to her nest.
They are very tolerant of people and will land a few feet from me or my son. They love to sing. and for a little bird make a lot of noise.

There are usually a number of nests around my place. The ones I don't like are the wasps and carpenter bees.
