This is Chloe... She lives 2 houses over (at least her name tag says that) but seems to spend most of her time in the foyer out front here. I kind of understand, there's a table, ledges to perch on, lots of shade. She is very friendly, and me being a sucker for cool animals I shared some catnip flavored cat treats with her. Im not sure what this little guy's name is but he seems to like the catnip treats too of course he ran down just long enough to snag a treat then hauled back up the tree to chatter at us. This is the little area right out front that is popular with the critters... I really dig it. My new place is smaller, only a 1 bedroom. but that's ok. the back yard is pretty big and fenced in, and this little area faces northeast, which means its shaded all day after around 11am, and that makes it a nice place to catch a break from the sun. Well I'm just posting a few snaps from my rounds today. I have seen a few others here who say they get along better with the critters than people, there are many days it is that way for me. The little wrens will be taking flight soon I'm pretty sure.

Nice critters, all you need now is a cement pond I put a birdbath out a week ago. I seem to have to fill it every 2-3 days. Last night the rain filled it for me. I like to confuse the squirrels by 'talking' to them, mimicking their cries. It sure drives them nuts... Lots of critters outside at my house, and a few inside.

I like to confuse the squirrels by 'talking' to them, mimicking their cries. It sure drives them nuts... Lots of critters outside at my house, and a few inside. years back i had a squirrel who lived in a tree out front, he used to peel bark off the tree and throw the bark chips at me while i was gardening. after several times of it 'raining bark' while i was working, i started plinking gravel back up at him. turned out he thought that was the best thing. that squirrel would get so wound up he'd be going loops from the tree to the roof and back to the tree, he really enjoyed the game. my whole driveway to the garden was a wwhite/light gray gravel. and under that tree all around you could see the bark chips, hundreds of them, that he had thrown at me. the little wrens have flown off, and moved on now. the nest is empty again.

Some years, I have had them nest twice, or I have a second set using the same address, which I guess is more likely. So far they have not returned.
