This would be one seriously cool build They sound wicked too! Yeah, nothing beats the sound of a single rotor engine in my opinion. but ill find out tomorrow how much its gonna cost for the materials. ill be going with billet aluminum for quality and strength.

So yeah, my project on the rotary build will have to wait, like 6 months. I called my local metal supplier and got a price on the pieces of billet aluminum that i will need for the project, it scared me! $1600 just for the materials. so its going to be quite awhile until i even attempt the build. i could go with base aluminum like what they use is the chinese motors, and wait until i have a working prototype before i go with the billet stuff. but with the lower grade materials you trade strength for price. but then again, ive seen the gy6 and 1e40qmb last for quite awhile. but either way, this project is on hold. so it leaves me free to play around with my 1e40qmb, to either go with just a 70cc BBk, or to due a full 90cc build. if i went with the 90cc+ build ill do the process that 90GTvert used and trim the crank down abit and bore the case a little to they will fit and give it abit for strength.

I think I may have a way to make my rotary engine, and it'd be cheaper then what my original cost would have been if I machined it myself. I happened to find a motorcycle, a tv and snowmobile junkyard within an 1 hours drive of where I live that just so happens to have and old Sachs wankel rotary in an old snowmobile. It's a 160cc aircooled. But it's all there. If I could get that, and machine up new faceplates that would accept a scooter cvt swingarm, and a cdi ignition system, I'd be set. But then again, finding parts for the old rotaries is going to be hard.

I looked into this a couple years ago. Rotaries are nice because they're so compact. A rotary of comparable size to a scooter engine would put out way more power. I found a story about a guy in Australia that had actually gotten it to work. Can't find it now.
