What would you have to do inside the cvt to get the scoot to do wheelies

If you want to wheelie from a dig, then work on the clutch tuning (springs and/or lightening) and get the belt to make full use of the rear pulley diameter so you have the most beneficial launch ratio. If the belt is squeezed up in the front pulley the clutch won't work as it should (early engagement) and you miss the best ratio for takeoff.

Every question ive asked, youve had answers and a video explaining. Thanks alot!!

I have 1500rpm torque spring and clutch springs on my parts scooter, a new belt ordered. Will see how that turns out, I also wanted to lighten the clutch shoes.

get lighter rollers to get it in the powerband for takeoff and also you might want to file down the variator face if the belt isn't sitting in the pulleys all the way. I know mine isn't and it lags for maybe half a second to a second because its stuck in that higher gear for a little bit. I'm sure if mine was filed I could pull a wheely.

Also, drilling holes in the clutch shoes to lighten them has the same effect as stiffer clutch springs. So if you use the super stiff clutch springs and its still not enough.... Drill those shoes!!

I set up a pre bug CVT specifically to do wheelies. here's what I did: spaced the drive boss so the belt can get down in front for best "1st gear", shaved the faces of the vari since there never seems to be enough room on the crank for spacers unless you sacrifice the kickstart pawl or e-start stuff to free up room, Installed a 90cc contra spring (I wish I knew which aftermarket contra this was equivalent to) to keep it "in lower gear longer", installed red 2k clutch springs- still wasn't enough RPM's at engagement so I also lightened each clutch arm, and I also had to put in a belt that was just slightly longer since the belt that was in it didn't reach fully to the outer edge of the rear pulley (for best "1st gear"). That thing was a blast to ride doing wheelies at every green light, sometimes accidentally!!

IDK- probably don't need to change the belt size at all- just on that pre-bug Zuma I noticed the belt wouldn't reach all the way out to the edge of the rear pulley so I put a slightly longer one on. Yours might be just fine... Here's the pic: See how deep the belt was sitting in the rear pulley? Not good for wheelies!! Here's what it looked like after the longer belt- much better!: Here's the build thread where I was setting up that CVT... 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/10835/flips-2000-2001-zumas-twins?page=5

Just ordered 8g sliders, 2k clutch springs, and a new throttle cable that I very much need, will take a pic of my rig before I tear it apart. Possibly gonna make the clutch shoes lighter if needed.
