Hello Blackpanda and welcome. As others here will tell you there really is no good way to improve your top speed without installing a big bore kit. With a 72cc big bore kit you can expect 45+ mph and way better acceleration and hill climbing performance. If this is what your looking for you can find our all in one easy to install power pack here. www.enviromoto.ecrater.com/p/3956702/stage-4-72cc-power-pack-139qmb-a

I agree. The best bang for your buck is a big bore kit. If you wanna spend less money you can usually get better acceleration and sometimes a little speed out of changing roller weights or switching to sliders. If it's in the budget though, most aren't disappointed with a big bore kit.

You can't improve much upon the top speed of these things without upping the displacement (big bore kit). They already come stock with a pretty aggressive cam and valves for the engine size, and the compression is about as high as you can run on pump gas.
The CVT's these things use for transmissions can be easily tuned for MUCH better acceleration and hill-pulling, though. Stock, they're set up to just lug the engine like crazy - great for gas mileage but not so hot for performance. There's a "Hill climbing performance" thread on the Troubleshooting board with all sorts of details. But it's not going to budge your flat-ground top speed at all.

I see all you guys mentioned the big bore kit....how about unrestricting the moped itself, its actually pretty easy if you have some mechanical knowledge and you can get 40-45mph.

Yeah most aren't restricted anymore, except for a small main jet. I haven't seen one in years with the restrictor ring on the variator, or any of the old restrictions. Just a really lean main jet too meet emissions standards and maybe a rev-limited CDI.

bbk is the way to go. I got the 50mm it is very quick and I got 44mph by the gps. I am 200 lb. I Also put an 88 main jet that i just raised to a 95 and I put a better air breather on it.

take a drill bit its some kind of cone bit and drill the exhaust out a little and you will have more speed

There is also a catalytic converter hiding in the muffler that it would not be a bad idea to lose.

I've got the same bike I think. So far I havent done much in the way of upgrades because its a chinese bike and most of my wrenching when i bought it was just getting it in running shape. Guy bought it last year, ran it into a curb, and put it away with 100 miles on it and i scooped it up dirt cheap. Long story short, so far the biggest gain I've seen was simply in the CDI restriction, on those bikes its a rev limiter. I put a short intake on it and now I'm going to replace the 85# main jet with prob a 90#. Still trying to dial in the roller weights. 8g weights turned the bike into a sloth. Thoughts anyone?

in south australia, things under 50cc's you dont need motorbike licenses and thats what the appeal is i guess. bbk's would be highly illegal in this situation.
also here you're only allowed to ride 50kph/31mph but i highly doubt anyone does that.
new 50cc scooters have to be restricted here to keep it around 50kph

here in the states about the only things restricted are teh 2 strokes as they can be fast out of the box
with a 4 stroke playing with the exhaust isnt going to realy give you much engines are air pumps so if you cant get more air in letting more out isnt helping but most people think they are faster with drilling holes and puting on after market pipes as they are louder (2 strokes this is a completly diffrent story)
the big thing i have seen with the clone bikes is they are geared to lug (not just the cvt but the trans gears themself) so if you can improve the torque you can take advantage of the gears if you take an adly hm its stock 11 to 1 where a stock zuma is 14.5 to 1 (2002 to 2005) or about 13 to 1 (08 to 11) so if you kit an adly you have more gear to pull then the zuma
