I don't think theres a scooter shop any where close to where I'm at and the cycle shops just kinda laugh when they see me coming so with me being new to scootering this a great place to the info I need.
I looked on the GY6 motor block and came up with this motor no. LY157QMOJ I believe, the odometer says it has 7000+ miles any one can tell me or a link to more info on the motor would be a big help. I'll be replacing some parts on it as I already had to replace the carb and dealing with a broken exhaust stud.
One question if I may, is I'm getting some backfiring when I decelerate kinda a popping sound, does that sound like a valve problem or timing?
Thanks Walt

That should be a GY6 150. Very very common engine. There's a Tank 150 manual here that may be of use : www.49ccscoot.com/manuals/manuals.html You don't usually get a specific manual for any model with Chinese scoots unless you're really lucky. The backfiring could be from running lean or since you've had exhaust issue it may just be that you've got a leak at or near the header.
