the flywheel puller is on the way to remove the oil pump gears on the triton r4. i have read i need to go with a larger main jet with premix. i plan to run the stock setup. the carb is a QJ/leader with a round jet #70. is that a mikuni jet and should i go with a bigger jet..as in a #75?

It should be a Mikuni VM11/22 style jet. Assuming it's in tune now, you will probably need to go up 2-3% in jet size.

so #70 jet = .02756" x 1.025 = .028249" or a #69 drill size. sound about right? yes i have a drill press.

Yep, it sounds about right but a #70 drill is closer in size to what you want and you won't need a drill press. I always use a pin vise and drill by hand with a little oil or kerosene as a lubricant. Here's a handy drill chart I made.

#70 drill it is, better to start small and do plug tests to work up.

What Luke said is correct, although in this instance I think you'd be safe starting at the 71.1, again assuming it's in a good state of tune currently. If you do drill larger and need to go back, you can fill the jet with solder and re-drill.

the scoot was non runner when i got it with 1900 miles. it had a new autolite 4092 and an ngk br9hs that was used and pitch black. other than someone cleaning the carb and changing the plug it appears to be stock.
