Hello everyone, I've recently aquired a powermax 150, the local highway speed is 60mph, i need to be able to maintain that for 11 miles, I've read a lot but, will it be possible to reach that with stock setting? I'm 260lbs and 6'2. I have a 6 moth full warranty and dont want to void it so I'm getting info now to save up for once that expires. I do believe it's a 26mm carb so i plan to do an upjet, but what do i need to upjet to, to work with a performance exhaust and filter?

What speeds are you maintaining now? Many will only sustain 50-55MPH, but if you catch a hill or substantial headwind it may drop into the 40s.

Go through a tuning process vs selecting a jet or rollers/sliders based on anyone's exact recommendation IMO. Get a selection of jets, PFS , ebay, amazon... lots of placed to buy them. Then do test runs and record results... RPM, speed, other data if you have it, and observations. You should start to see a pattern emerge, showing which jetting or rollers are working best. Only change one thing at a time, so focus on rollers or sliders or focus on jetting but don't try to tune both at once. www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5j8gHg5kMcYou may want to try a pretty simple free pickup mod to see if that gets you any extra power/speed. www.youtube.com/watch?v=p63JXW29tVo

Thanks 90gt, i plan on doing your free mod within the week. I have another question, is it possible to work the throttle to cause a downshift? When im cruising around 45mph, if i let off the gas and wait a second and resume throttle it will accelerate with some torque but if i let off the throttle and immediately get back on the throttle it makes a noticeable difference in acceleration compared to what i explained above? Is something wrong inside the cvt or is it causing a downshift?

Any time you let off the throttle or reduce speed it should cause a "downshift". It may be a bit of slip somewhere causing the change if you are more rapidly on and off of the throttle. Not 100% certain.

Well the advanced timing mod is done, just waiting for morning hours to go for a test ride. Took me a bit longer to find a good deal on a dremel than i expected but i got a 4000 + all different size diamond bits for $30 flat. I got it as close as i could comfortably ground out... being my first time using a dremel. I will post pics pending first ride. My only problem is that the distance between the rubber piece holding the plastic was tight. Not so tight that i can't see a gap, a cc will fit in between but it's tightttt. Will a tight gap effect charging? Seems to crank faster than before, after first rather tha. 2nd and sometimes third... can't wait to ride to see if there is a difference... keep your fingers crossed for me fellas.
Edit: drinking so i had to correct. I'm sure my grammar and spelling and usage is still way off. Forgive me. I did refuse shot offers from my gf while dremelling if that gives me any kudos. (After 5 slef condoned)
PSS: DON'T DRINK AND DREMEL! I did hit my thumb after 5 shots.... didn't hurt didn't feel good either

The air gap from the pickup to the reluctor will not affect your scooter's charging. If it's too large, you can get a weak or intermittent pulse and have problems with spark. As long as you're within around 0.030" (avg credit card thickness) it is likely okay.
Good deal on the Dremel. They come in handy for all sorts of scooter modding tasks.

So i can't tell much of a difference honestly, the acceleration seems to pick up quicker after 3.5k rpm... but maybe it's just me. i hit a top speed of indicated 110-115 kph @8-9ish rpm. I'll do a gps run hopefully tomorrow and post results. It's been very windy, so i havent been out riding as often as usual. tomorrow I'll be on a look out for a break in the basically all day 10-30mph gusts we've been having lately. Actually got up to 65mph gusts today with the storms rolling through. I hope tomorrow is better.
