NICE!!!
That's a lot of quick change tool posts and cutters. Looks like you have a couple of extra chucks. Maybe the tapered bearings to switch over the head stock? There's as much money in extras there as that lathe costs. I looked at chucks and never bought one because that's ~$150 for a cheap one. I watched This Old Tony's vid on the bearing swap, but they were fairly expensive so I never did that. Tooling and accessories add up quick for this stuff. Not to mention the time someone put into grinding all of those bits.
Looks to be very well cared for. Plus I think Grizzly is a good one if you're buying Chinese. I believe they actually have a site where you can get replacement parts and such. With my Chinese lathe, nothing comes up if I google the brand. Nothing is an easy fit or known if I contact even places that specialize in Chinese mini lathes like LittleMachineShop. You did really well. Congrats on that find and I can't wait to see what you create with it.

I know a very talented wood crafter that bought all Grizzly equipment for his woodshop. Drill press, planar, two band saws, table sander, joiner, table saw, couple other pieces that I cannot remember offhand. Anyway, he thought it was very high quality equipment. There is (was?) a retail outlet in PA where he picked everything up, but from a quick google search, nothing obvious. Edit: Looks like the 430,000 sq ft showroom in Muncy PA moved to Missouri back in 2015.

Been wanting to upgrade my TIG machine as the old Lincoln square wave has fallen behind in the new welding technology, lots of decent China AC DC TIG machines out there at a way better price than the big names,I researched it a lot and settled on an AHP alpha tig 201xd,got it yesterday and like it so far..Very controlled arc even at low amps..

Does better voltage regulation and a higher voltage make for better control at lower amperages on welding machines? Wanting to get into welding and trying to gain a basic understanding...

The new stuff has a totally new tech build inside,'IGBT' inverter for new,old was transformer..I dialed the AHP down to 30 amps (old Lincoln was impossible to go that low) and welded some 20 gauge(.8mm,.035") steel sheet(pipe metal) easily with tiny beads, then repaired an aluminum fuel tank (.040") that had a 2" long crack easy peazy!Lots of super cheap TIG machines out there now that are only DC(no aluminum welds)..I had to have AC-DC as we have a lot of aluminum repairs in aviation..The old Lincoln cost me $2200 20 years ago,AHP was $720 shipped!!

I know an IGBT is something like a power transistor and operates off of voltage instead of current at its gate rather than base (I believe?), but the rest was Chinese to me. Hopefully once I get my hands on a welder it’ll start to make more sense haha.
Congrats again! Can’t wait to see what you do with it.

Soon to be significant purchase; I stopped by the dealer this evening with hopes of bringing home a brand new Duke 390. The offer he gave me last month included a rebate that expired Dec 31. With minor questioning, he also admitted that he was personally waiting for the next KTM rebate offer to buy the dirt bike that was sitting behind me (February???) So now I am committed, they have two in stock, he said he will call when the next rebate notice comes in. I came home and ordered this: Remus S-Flow cat delete, will install w/ dB Killer OUT Also plan to buy PowerTRONIC remap unit. Waiting for response to see if they will burn the maps for my specific setup before they ship. Apparently they do, but I don't know the process. I chose the "PT" unit because you can fine tune the actual tables for fuel and ignition - that's some precise tinkering! Need to open up the airbox as well. Don't even have the bike and it's getting mod'd already. The stock fender is fugly as hell, a fender eliminator kit will be here before the bike for sure. Pics to come of course! Patience [dear Watson] [young padawan]. Not like I'm gonna take a brand new bike and ride it through salt-riddled streets anyway... errr, yeah right. Def get a good rinsing after that.

The 390 is a good looking bike. It was one that I was considering when I picked up my bike. Try to keep the salt off of it for a bit... naaa 🙂

Originally I was thinking adventure bike type. Looked into a couple different bikes last Summer... BMW F 650 GS (basically a de-tuned 800cc), and a Kawa 1200cc Versys. For a long tour I wanna do. Guy at work wants to sell the BMW, he works "over the wall" from me, and good a guy nonetheless. I saw the versus for sale last time I scooted to Watkins Glen. I talked to the owner and asked questions. But after several discussion, these full-up outdoor adventure bikes sound a little heavy. Off-hand I don't remember the last time I road my CBR600F2 (450 lb range??) but it's def been over a decade ago. Been driving around S2000 since then. Well that GY6 Ruck of mine is more fun than the S2000, and it weighs less than me. Still need more pulling power tho, and nimble wheelies that the scoot cannot satisfy. 'N if it ain't gonna take me 'cross country in lickity-split, then perhaps there is an adventure bike in the next near future.

You may know already but the Husqvarna 401 is a rebranded 390 Duke with different bodywork. It looked out of proportion to me but may be something you like. Looking just now there are 2 versions, one may be the adventurous bike your looking for.

Yeah talk about re-branding. Isn't KTM an Austrian brand? Dukes are built in India. Sort like iPhones are designed by Apple and built in China. Either way, as simple minded and molded as this is, I drank the KTM KoolAid. Now here's the question (I reserve comments after til after y'alls response, not to bias the answer)... so... which color?
