jmkjr72 congratulations to you both. That's got to be the most expensive thing in this thread ever! I know. Still paying for my 30 year old. 😁

Been doing simple bolt together builds for years now. It's time to wise up and start tackling more intricate and in depth builds. So down the road of knowledge I embark.

Finally got a media blasting cabinet and a proper Dremel! Added a 3 jaw chuck so I can use the slightly undersize carbide burs for porting. Grabbed a 25kg bag of glass beads, meant to be the go for alloy engine parts.

Raizer, what compressor are you using with it ? I've got an older Air Command "industrial" compressor I got years ago. fingers crossed it's up to the task!

50 litre tank, so about 13 gallon? This looks to be the newer version of mine www.aircommand.co.nz/shop/Trade+Compressors/AC16i.htmlI've not tried the blaster yet, so can't comment on if it's big enough, but it's rated higher than what the blaster instructions call for at least

holy chit , man . that's a compressor. I don't think you'll have any problem at all with 15 CFM. not sure, but you might only need about 100 psi.

I need more kleenex to stem the flow of tears... from my disappointment at not being able to afford all that . but I'm glad others can and it's fun to watch it all.

I was told 60-80psi for glass bead, will experiment though.
Blaster cab was actually fairly cheap, they have a new model coming in so I got a really good deal. Same with the compressor actually, was back in 2007 I got it for $690 from a shop liquidation, still a lot of money but much better than the $1450 ticket price and I had already been through several cheap ones at that stage and wanted something that'd last

" I had already been through several cheap ones at that stage and wanted something that'd last ".
yeah , I hear that. some cheap stuff is ok , but not everything.
is Tool Pro in the US? what I saw was not . doesn't matter tho; nothing soon for me ,if at all. actually all I have to blast is my vice that I'd like to restore. all told price wise , I should go on and pay the hourly shop price of 80-85 an hour to have it blasted . might price an acid bath somewhere.
I'd just like these toys.
