tsimi sure can That little cap at the lower left "C7" gets super hot pretty much instantly when I hook the wires up to power. Learnt that when I had it out of the case and hooked it up with my finger over C7... Edit: it's the black chip to the right of the C7 cap that's getting stupidly hot. Can't see any shorts or dry joints etc in there. Procon-products sent my thermocouple yesterday too, this gauge only comes with this couple

Thanks RaizerIs that display open like that on the rear? You can see the whole PCB. If so then you have to make sure it is very good mounted and sealed. And welcome to the "I bought a china product and it died on me" club. Not sure if you are familiar with my CHT topic so checkout here. Same thing happened to me, one time connected it worked next time it didn't run anymore and even start to smell and smoke. Got a free replacement and since then no issues anymore.

Yeah that's the complete gauge as it came, have got a couple ideas on sealing the front and mounting it somewhere away from water. But I'm not going to get carried away until I've got a working gauge to mount! It's a neat little display though, just a pity it's dead. Edit: Cylinder is well cast, just a few burrs in the exhaust port I knocked off with some 400grit. Little bit of flash in the piston's window. Fitted the reeds to my cage.

Got a lot done today/tonight! First off F*@K WHITE KNIGHT PAINT!!! Been curing for days, baked with heat gun, baked in the oven, still soft enough to smear with a rag!! 2T oil will dissolve it, so it'd never handle the petrol I'll spill changing jets! Going to scrub the engine with a rag and brake cleaner, mask it and just blow it over with plain old silver or black high temp Anyway, bearings and seals arrived from VG, so I armed myself with some dry ice and put my cases in the oven, decided to risk it with the bushings fitted I just kept a close eye on them! Went together easily enough! Got in trouble for the stupid paint ruining her good chopping board Even remembered how the gears go lol Yet again the 4 stroke engine came through for me, like new brake pads! the 4t probably never had the power to need brakes haha And that's about where I'm upto, think I've seated my smaller crank seal too deep so will need to get another one, and I don't want to go fitting the manifold and new cylinder etc up before I repaint it, so tomorrow I'm planning on fitting an old cyl with no piston, covering all the openings and masking it all the best I can so I can try to wash all this paint off Oh and had a play with the LED lightbar I was going to use as a headlight originally Not the prettiest, but function over form etc!

Have you thought about recessing the light in the front cover? Cut a slot and mount to the head tube or to the scoottronics bracket? Looks good. Almost looks dangerous.... I mean fun.

Sounds like a good idea, will have a play with mounting spots and see what I can come up with. 2 small squirts of WD40 smeared around with my finger tip followed by a quick wipe with a rag = Just about all the paints gone!! Got some WD40 on the Dupli-Color hight temp paint on the final drive cover, did nothing more than make the satin black shiny until it was all wiped off. Going to grab either a can of this if it's in stock Or a black brake caliper paint tomorrow. /Just leave it bare alloy.

Bare alloy will corrode from electrolysis due to electrical current running through it. These motors will do that if you store them with the battery hooked up. You can polish the alloy which basically makes it harder for the corrosion to cling on. You can also attach a Zinc anode that will help prevent electrolysis.

Super clean build! Bummer that paint didn't work out. It looked real nice! Yep dry ice will get it cold enough haha

Got an email this morning from the seller I brought my CHT gauge from, the replacement has been sent! No photos today, but I grabbed a couple cans of cheap store brand degreaser and the paint just washed off my engine like dust! Spent ages masking it off the best I could, wiped it down with wax and grease remover then sprayed on 3 coats of that Duplicolor engine enamel. 15 minutes later the paint felt bone dry already which is a great sign to me!
Leaving it overnight to cure a bit more, then will most likely fit the cylinder and other parts tomorrow arvo, pics then!

I don't know if it actually helps, but I always take my heat gun to my metal parts that I spray paint. Makes me feel like it's gonna hold up better.

Might stop in at my workshop and give it a bit of a warm up with the heat gun later on when I go to the supermarket.
I know the inlet manifold I baked with the same paint (but black) has set super hard!

Sneak peak That's just the final drive cover/input shaft from the Sepia, used as masking. Again I managed to fight the temptation to paint my carb haha Also keep thinking of using my S6 Pro Rep on this engine rather than the Tecnigas...

Paint has set up nice and hard, so it's time to build it! 49cc vs 68cc Kinda got into a zone and forgot to take pics of the piston etc being fitted... Greased up the oil pump drive, although I'm still tossing up going to premix. Reed block, inlet on, also VG's pump drive cover to stop any crap getting in there. Had to remove the cover from the wiring and de-pin the pick up from the plug, the Let's has a 2 wire pick up where the AZ and 4t etc are only single wire, so I'm going to stick with the Let's pick up and pin this stator into the Let's 4 pin plug, have some nice braided wire cover to go on it too. Have also refitted the final drive and oiled it up. I think I'm at the point now where I have to start stripping my Scoot for the bits to continue, so I'm going to go for a decent ride after lunch then pull all the plastics off. Think I'm going to take the Pro Rep down to get rewelded later on too...

That's the same led light bar I'm interested in getting. Can I ask how you wired it in? Or where?
