I still want the Jog RR that's in my avatar. I have no idea how to get it through customs though.

Went and had a bit of a play with it, first off I discovered that with the Dellorto I no longer need to muck around and remove the carb to change jets! Gasket had expanded a bit, presume from fuel Gave it a squirt with brake cleaner then left it for 10 minutes, it shrank back down. Fitted the 35 slow jet, 108 main and A21 needle lifted one clip from the middle. Soo rich it will barely run at idle, any throttle kills it! Probably should have at least warmed it up a bit with the old lean set up. Pulled the airbox to find it had spat a bit of fuel into the airbox and the inside of the carb was soaked! So I swapped to a 104mj, but somehow managed to catch the bowl gasket on the MJ... Tore it when trying to move it, didn't realize Dellorto had glued it on in several spots. So that puts an end to things for a while as no one in NZ lists a gasket and it will be weeks before I can get one from overseas Tempted to try a bit of Yamabond on it in place of a gasket... But I know it's not a great idea! Also this is the splits in the airbox Tape was just a quick attempt to seal it enough for a rough tune. I found an elbow on another Suzuki airbox, it doesn't have a bellmouth snorkel bit inside the box like this one, but otherwise it fits, I just need to make up a bracket to move the air box back about 15mm and out from the motor about 20mm. Lol also first time trying to start it I was trying to figure out why it didn't seem to be getting fuel/was taking so long to fill the float bowl after changing jets... I've never had a carb where the drain wasn't seized solid so kinda forgot to do it back up haha Edit: looking around online it looks like my best bet is going to be $55 for 2 gasket sets delivered from Dellorto UK, works out a few $ cheaper than treatland, I figure 2 kits as in my experience if I've got a spare of something I'll never need it haha. There's a set listed on eBay in Germany that is a fair bit cheaper, just trying to confirm the Vespa PHVA takes the same gasket. I can find the kits really cheap on a few Canadian and US sites, but I just don't know how anyone can justify US$60 shipping for a tiny gasket from Canada or the US!!

RaizerSorry to bother about the speedometer again while you are having troubles to take care but I was wondering can you use the stock eletronic speed thing that is connected to the fork or does it only work with magnets?

tsimi it's no bother at all! Mine only had a mechanical gear, nothing as fancy as an electronic speedo on the Suzuki! It might well be possible though, would need to work out how many pulses it puts out per turn of the wheel, I'd guess it'd be a Hall effect sensor so I don't really see why it wouldn't be doable. Ooh yeah, update incoming soon...

Gotta love custom builds. All the little bugs and gremlins pop up. I heard someone say to account 30% of your budget for oops and unforeseens. Looks good. Can't wait to see it tearing down the road.

Went back to the shed and changed the starter bendix to the one that at engages properly, fitted the elbow to my airbox and started mocking up the Stage6 pipe on my other engine. I was thinking of just recutting the head pipe and rotating the pipe down a bit, but looking at it I think I'll loose too much ground clearance doing it that way. So I'm considering making several pie cuts and tweaking the first big bend around then having it welded back up And then decided to risk it and used some Yamabond in place of the float bowl gasket... 35sj, 104mj, A21 needle lifted one clip from centre, already warmed up. Trying to track down where that odd noise is coming from, I almost think it's CVT related, but I think it may have started after the soft seize... And on the street. Still a bit lean on the top end right? Also thinking of either going to a manual choke or ditching the enricher altogether, seems way easier to start warm than it is when the enricher is open, will see what it's like when I get the tune down first though.

This one is hard to call. It seems to bog just a bit off idle, which is usually because it's lean, but with that size main in it?? Are those genuine Dellorto jets? I'm wondering if it's really a 104? Anyway, yeah, I'm still calling lean.

I brought 2 Naraku jet kits, I was thinking 104 seemed huge for stock airbox!

Sorry, don't know anything about those jets. Forget the numbers for now and just get it to run rich and then come down from there.

I believe there the same jets sold under the motorforce brand as well. I've only got 2 bigger than what's in it now, but if need be I can drill out some of the small ones to suit.
Think the 35sj might be a bit small, the 40 seemed to be too big to me with how far I had to open the air screw.

I just saw where you had the 108 in it. So try 1 size bigger and if it's too much then go back to the 104 and raise the needle. Something like that. It doesn't sound that far off, but you can't afford another soft seize.

Yeah with the 108 I could barely get it to stay running it was that rich, but I didn't get it warmed up and the choke was still open, dunno what it would have done with it closed and the engine warmed up.
Will try the 106mj in the morning, will try lifting the needle too, that will put it on its richest slot.

Pouring down with rain here ATM so haven't gone and tried different jets or anything today. The more I think about that noise in my engine the more worried I'm getting that it's one of my crank bearings making it

Maybe try pulling the belt and the plug and spin the motor over with a drill to see if you hear it?
