I have a qian 50cc scooter with a Qj1e40qmb engine I am used to riding a 1000cc motorcycle so I almost always still wear pants when riding but recently we have had a heat index of 95ish with over 75% humidity. I noticed this once before but just figured it was nothing. But. when wearing shorts, while the bike is stopped if I rev the engine I can feel a rush of air coming out of the air filter box and on to my leg. I looked at this more and i can feel air sneaking out the seams where to the halves of the air box fit together. I just put in a new filter, so that shouldn't be the problem. anyone else have this issue? Is this something to ignore or could this be a reason why she likes to cruise at 34-35 mph on the flat...? That's air from the cooling fan exiting the plastic shroud that directs the air flow over the cylinder and cylinder head. Completely normal. The cooling fan is on the right side of the engine. It draws in air and the air flows through the black plastic surrounding the cylinder and exits out near the air box. The fan is driven by the engine so when you rev the engine it blows harder and you can feel it. It has nothing to do with cruising speed. This shows the air flow on a 4 stroke engine. Same thing on yours pretty much.

Thanks for the info! Kinda embarrassing since I've been riding over 2/3 of my life....

If air is blowing out of the intake, and your sure its not from the cooling fan than the reeds may be bad.
