I was thinking last night. How much effort would it be to round up some aeroxs, Aprilia SR's, Beta Ark's, Yamaha Jog RR's, Gilera Runner 50/180's, Gilera DNA's and maybe some Itlajet Dragsters. Put them in a container and ship them across the pond.
Dunno how eager you guys are for those scoots but finding them here is easy and i know america is more and more starting to see the benefit of scoots i suppose...look at that new macklemore video...

One container here please! I pay you back in monthly rates till the day I or you die. I want...no I NEED an Aerox and at least 2 Jog RR. Curious though, how much would it really cost to send such a container with Scooters over the ocean?

Im eager for one of those scoots for sure but the money doesnt add up right now. IDK about Europe to the US but to ship a scoot from Japan to the states via DHL air is about 1500 US

I was involved in the mid 90's in the reverse process. My friend and I bought late 70's Jap muscle bikes. Triumphs,BSAs and Nortons and packed containers to a guy in Liverpool. He flew over inspected his purchase and paid us.It was a somewhat complicated task meeting customs regs then, now would have to be much worse.

I was just wondering if there would be a problem registering and titling a European bike here in the states that was not approved for sale. I have a cousin that was denied a registration for his scooter because the certificate of origin was not up to the state's standards.

a 20ft container from europe to the US would be about 5000 pounds/8000 dollars
you would be able to fit 6 maybe 9 scooters in a container and you would have to figure out some way to tie them down to the floorboards or something.

That's a very pat statement. There are all kinds of variables. What port to what port, the carrier etc.Our Brit guy handled all the shipping detail but we loaded 50 ft. containers and built wooden racking inside so the bikes could be double stacked .We could get 60 full size bikes in there. We are a port of entry on the Misssissippi so the container left here on a barge to New Orleans. Then onto a container ship to Liverpool.

I will pay 3,000 US (shipped) for a 2007 or newer Jog RR. I don't care if it runs as long as the plastics are in good shape and that all the electronics work and that it's not a rust bucket.
I have to go to DMV next week and I'll ask about the legalities. Not sure how much my over-paid government employee will know, but I'll definitely ask and then get back to you about this.

The thing is...interest in (A-brand) two stroke scoots is rapidly declining and reaching zero but like 10yrs ago EVERY 16y/o had one or two. Thousands and thousands of junkers to showroom pieces are on the inet for two or three hundred euro's. No one wants them and i can't have them all myself Someone with some money to burn can make BIGGG bucks on that. Oh and tons ans tons of Jog RR's drove around here a few years ago. I think the same goes for Germany, but not sure. Never dove into that, i don;t speak german for shit. Everyone here has a 4-poop vespa or some chinese crapper.

I wish that I had some money, but i haven't worked in 3 months and workmans comp doesn't pay very well. I don't even have the 3 thousand, I would have to put that on a credit card. If there was a genuine interest in it and enough idiots like me that are willing, and able, to spend that much money on a USED scooter then I could probably find more money and do it as an investment of sorts. But I see it taking quite a bit of time getting my money back and making a profit. And as mentioned by derbiman, making sure that people can buy and then ride them legally. In Nevada it's no big deal as they don't need to be registered, or insured. That is not the case in many states though. Seems like such a waste that all those nice scooters that are so desirable here will probably end up rotting over there because of these obstacles.

You try finding a cheap good condition two stroke 50cc here, they are like Unicorns! Just two weeks ago a kid in my street had his second accident on his 6 month old Speedy 3. Just noticed today that there is a new Chinese scooter outside his house. These young kids just cant seem to stay on them!
