Nice truck. I haven't owned an RC for 5 years or more now. I used to have an HPI RS4MT. It was like an AWD version of the popular (at least then) RC10T. It had a motor swap and some little tweaking, but nothing too fancy. A friend had an RC10T so we used to race each other with them. Another freind built a Grave Digger Clodbuster with 2 motors. That was before the days of RTR mega trucks too. I went into a hobby shop with the guy that had the Clodbuster and we were both taking a serious look a tthe gas powered HPI and Traxxas trucks. They do look like fun. I've been looking at them for a few years now, but I can't justify $300-400 starting price plus whatever else I'd end up doing to it or needing for it. EDIT : Just looked and they still make the RS4 MT... so HERE is what I used to have. I almost forgot, Bob had a gas RC car. I got to see it run 1 time. It was very fast... so fast that he couldn't control it in a large parking lot and it slammed into a curb and that was the last of it. |

RS4MT is a good one. I had a Traxxas Nitro sport with a bunch of goodies on it but nitro went up to $30 a gallon and i had to part with it. It was fun and i love the smell of nitro fuel but with the cost of fuel and parts it cost me to much to run.
This thing is low geared and electric, its so slow that when i do fall off an obstacle it isnt going fast enough to hurt it. The only things i have broken on it are an axle and a t-case gear and its been ROCK CRAWLED! I was impressed at how well it holds up. Im gonna enjoy this nice day and go crawl a bit.

Mine and the RC10T would do 30-35MPH so they got wrecked up pretty well sometimes. After all, that's around 300MPH scale.  Almost forgot, the same guy that had the RC10T had a Traxxas Stampede. It was electric too. Took on some mud pits with it after learning to do a bit of shielding to the motor, servo, and controller. lol Enjoy your day of mini-crawlin'. BTW, when are you building an RC scooter? ;D |

Mine is RC aircraft. I have planes, planes with floats to fly off water, quads, helicopters, and FPV (first person view) where you wear goggles and fly as if you were in the aircraft. I also have two RC10GTs that I used to run with my boys when we were younger.

I’ve been flying FPV this whole July 4th weekend so far. I still kinda suck but I get better with each pack.

I had an old LOSI 1/10 Truck and buggy that we ran at a local track. The kids did real well but my Essential Tremor kept me from competing well. I had the philosophy that you had to finish to win so I built accordingly. My vehicles may have not been the fastest but they always finished, almost always in 1st place  They did so well over moguls and other rough spots that they banned moguls at the local track instead of trying to figure out what I was doing. |
