Hello all I am new to this forum and I have used the search for my engine code and found nothing. The code is QJ1E40QMB. If I leave off the QJ then I get some results. I have a 12" rear wheel but my scooter is running fine right now and I would rather not take off the engine to measure it so I was thinking someone could tell me if I have the short or long case motor. The scooter is a 2007 Diamo Velocity 50 2T. I would like to put a 100CC motor in it next week when I get my tax money back. This is my only transportation and when me and my wife get on it, it goes horribly slow lol. If it is a 90CC engine with 50cc head on it then that would be awesome so I could get all of the high performance transmission and engine parts as well as the 90cc big bore kit but I am sure that I am not that lucky. Well thank you all for reading my post and any info you can give me on my scooter or motor is greatly appreciated.

The QJ1E40.. and 1E40... are the same type of engine. Check out the 2T section in tech and search for the 1E40 on here. You have a long case engine. If it were a 90-100cc, you'd know it if you've ever rode a 50cc. The 90cc has way more power and feels really torquey in comparison. So far I haven't read of anyone doing a 90cc swap and being disappointed once it's up and running.

Thank you for your responce. From what I was reading is that some of these engines are 90cc motors with 50cc head, piston, jug on them. I guess this is not the case with my motor though. I am going to look up the 100cc long case now. I am very excited about this.

OK so I just looked at the motor from partsforscooter.com and I am going to be ordering it on Thursday. From what they tell me it comes with the variator, clutch, and belt as well as the brake shoes. That is a big plus. Will I have to change my exhaust and carb or can I get away with just changing the jet? Has anyone gotten a motor from them before? Do I need to chamfer the cylinder or should that already be done? Is there a restrictor washer in the variator in this motor? Sorry for all of the questions but I would like to know what I am getting in to before I do this. Thank you all again.

I missed what you were saying about the 90cc before. If it isn't a QMB-A or 1E40FM, then I strongly doubt you'd have a case ready for a big cylinder with a longer stroke crank. I've never ordered an engine from them, so someone else will have to tell you for sure about it, but I doubt there is a restrictor in the vari. Chamfering is not a bad idea, but I probably wouldn't bother since it's all together already. Same deal as if you bought a brand new scoot. The ports in that will be about the same, and I'm pretty sure 99% of people wouldn't take it all apart to chamfer the ports and stick it back together before the first start. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=yamajog&action=display&thread=999

So after buying this motor I have about $200 more to spend. What would you all suggest that I get? I want to be able to make it up hills at 45 MPH with me and my wife on it. Is that a pipe dream? The total weight is about 380lbs total.

Ok so I know that I am jumping all over the place here but I just found something even better. Scooterdawg has a 100cc motor with a carb for less then the 90cc i was looking at. It is an ac system and I dont know if mine is ac or dc so i have to see if I am getting the right thing or have to do some changing to my scooter to get this motor to work as I have seen in other post's.

It depends what kind of hills you are talking about. Minor hills shouldn't be an issue. If you live in the mountains, buy big scoot. I think one really nice addition, although not necessary, would be a pipe. I love the Phongeer pipe that I got from VT Cycles. It has a low powerband with lots of torque, looks stock, and is quiet. I don't think most people would notice it's not stock other than some carbon fiber trim. VT doesn't show the pipe on their site, but if you email them or call them they should be able to set you up if you are interested. I paid $145 shipped last summer. Info, pics, vid of the pipe... 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=builds&action=display&thread=516&page=22The rest of the money, I'd spend on what I'd call essentials. Jets are a must. Gotta get that carb tuned. The stock carb uses Mikuni VM11/22 style jets (Rocky Mountain ATV, Jets R Us) and you'll probably end up needing something around a 75-95. The CVT may need some attention for best results as well. Ideally, I'd switch to another variator like the 90cc Hoca variator that Parts For Scooters sells. I've had much better experiences with it on my 90ccs. Even if you don't upgrade the variator, I'd suggest getting some tuning supplies. Roller weights, clutch springs, and contra springs would be nice to have if you want it dialed in just right. The stock vari on the 50 or 90cc should use 15x12mm rollers. If you go with the Hoca I mentioned earlier, it would use 16x13mm rollers. I like sliders even better than rollers, but they are costly to buy a bunch to figure out what you need at about $20 a set from treatland.tv or eBay sellers. You can get a tuning set of rollers (like the links below) fairly cheap however. If you decided to move up to sliders later, then you'd have a better idea of what you'd need rather than buying $100 worth of sliders to start with. cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MULTI-PACK-ROLLERS-ZUMA-BWS-MINARELLI-VARIATOR-15X12-EZ-/270651166403?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f04110ec3cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ROLLERS-MULTI-PACK-ZOOMER-RUCKUS-NPS50-TUNER-PAK-16X13-/250699942373?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a5ee189e5Here is a set of 3 diff stiffnesses of clutch and contra springs about as cheap as I know of... cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Race-Spring-Yamaha-JOG-1E40QMB-50cc-90cc-scooter-moped-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem4cf537520aQQitemZ330531557898QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessoriesA carb, carbon fiber reeds, and a big bore kit would be my steps beyond the above, but that starts getting way out of budget and probably won't be necessary for what you want.

well the motor from scooterdawgs comes with a carb so if i get the pipe and carbon fiber reeds then i should be good. I also want to get the variator. Damn this is addicting.

Even though it comes with the carb, I wouldn't risk my new engine that it was jetted properly. Even if it bolts in and runs, it's probably not gonna be ideal without a little tinkering. Not to mention you'll need to play with jetting and the trans again after the pipe. That's why I consider jets and CVT tuning bits essentials.

if your still not sure if you've got an ac or lc engine just look in the stator side of the engine and see if you've got a fan or water pump. if you don't mind me asking, whats the link to that 100cc?
