The Wood Brothers could do it in less than 20 minutes. That would also include an oil change, new tires, and a carb rebuild. Well, back when they were young... Bill I bet these guys could do it in about 37 seconds... youtu.be/gKF6dcKjLJoWow, that was really great! But, to be fair, they used "Special Tools". (Socket wrenches) Bill

I miss those cars. Bill When I sleep I have dreams of leaving the rat race, selling anything I can't pack into a split window camper bus and falling off the face of the earth for a few years. These dreams involve beaches, and warm weather. I tell my wife all the time, I'm one bad day away from cashing in my 401k and becoming voluntarily homeless. With that kind of lifestyle the little money I've got could stretch a long way. But than I realize life's all about perspective. I've got a buddy that's spends all day on a beach surrounded by tourist girls in bikinis and he thinks I've got it made. Grass is always greener I guess. I still like to try it out for a while.

I want to be the first guy in history that goes coast to coast on a Chinese scooter. In the 90's, I read in a vintage motorcycle magazine that some guy actually had done this on a 60's era Honda 50. I'm figuring it might take a year...or more.

Ive been fortunate to be able to travel just enough I want to do it a lot more. I prefer warm but there is literally no place I can think of that I don't want to go. So long as I have the appropriate gear for the climate.

I used to play MMOs a lot, and once in a while someone would come on the game and would type till his finger bled. Mostly asking questions about the game, gears and all sorts of stuff like. You know, it was the type of person who could twist the same questions in 50 diffeent ways looking for different answers.
"did i buy curencies?" "How often i played" "How could he get gear like mine" blah blah blah... blah blah blah... blah blah blah...
Whenever i got to the point of being really annoyed, i would give him this tip:
"If you want good gears, if you want to be rich, i got 1 tip for you: Shut up and grind"
I guess this could apply to wrenching too.

I can swap from stock to BBK on my 2 stroke Super 9 in about 30 minutes flat. At most 15 minutes flat, if the damn piston pin retaining clips don't give me any issues

I played Guild Wars for years. Then XBox, I rarely have time anymore. Maybe I'll play some this winter. I've been missing GTAV.

I don't like GW2 as much. I've stopped PC gaming a couple years back. My son still plays some. I have one character close to maxing all achievements. Talk about a grind. Sheesh.

Bill
I bet these guys could do it in about 37 seconds... youtu.be/gKF6dcKjLJo
Just changing the exhaust on my '58, '63, and '67, I could scrape five knuckles and lacerate both hands in under 45 sec...

Yes, I installed a "bundle of snakes" exhaust on my 1970 and it only took me about 5 hours to do so. Had I dropped the engine, installed the exhaust and then put the engine back it would have been much faster. Yes, I was bleeding from many areas at the end of that job.

i really dont know where this topic starts. or ends. first you want to switch aroudn the definition of swap. to swap you have to first take the first off and put the second on. and normally like, every day like conversation, the 2nd isnt comletely set up for you. but in context of that topic, well, the valves wherent talked about. and thats all that was clear.
besides you considering in your timing now in this topic, saying what it was, your considering that the cases are cleaned off for you, gaskets scraped off, already. you couldnt do this in 30 minutes. you saved yourself 10 minutes right there of time. ok, maybe 5. but still thats 5 minuts of cleaning. that would be mandatory. besides if that wasnt the case, you still have to, remove the top-end. usually both. if you want to consider your timing of swapping, in context of that reply in that topic, you have to consider that you need to clean some junky thing a guy has brought into you, and scrape gaskets off. or remove the top end and theyve wiped the motor off, and you also have a top end that hasnt been on long, so all the gaskets pull right off. or maybe this person is in a hurry has no time, and theyve rebuild their cases and covered their gaskets in axle grease, which makes them not stick. at least...
you didnt do, a ring gap, clean honing dust, you expected this whole motor in your reply in that topic, to be done for you. and you push some buttons to get it together. still culdnt get it together in 30 minutes.
and if you did, you burnt up a motor from the rings maybe too long, burnt it up from honing dust left in the cylinder and smoked the rings.
i wasnt challenging you personally. im just saying you shouldnt use that word in a everyday conversation. ever. calling something swap. when your really pushing buttons. even with just that top end, the correct way you should of took over 30-35 minutes to do it with.
