So then I finally acquired the prized possession, half of a chinese version of a Honda crf150 dirtbike. Lol most people wouldnt have given these bits of scrap a second look, but I had "the vision" here is a google image of what the full dirtbike would have looked like here is the bottom half of the scoot and the top half of the dirtbike when I got it home. here is the initial test fit of the dirtbike subframe, held in place with shoe strings! The plan was to cut the head tube in half and have it cup the head tube of the scooter for ease of fitment and a large contact area for strength. From there it was time to clean it up nice so the fit would be as flush as possible.

This is a pic of the first time it was stable enough to sit on. it felt great! I also got the engine cleaned up a bit at this time, and re organized the wiring to hide it better... For a while it just had a steel strut while I was deciding what to do with the suspension set up. but then my friend henry gave me the idea for this mono shock setup. at first it was just a temporary fix for the bar but its actually been working well and may become a permanent fixture on the scoot.

Finally! here are some pics of the scoot in its current state as of october 6. I still have more work to come but overall the idea is there... One thing that is going to be coming soon are these sweet mini LED headlights. Im planning to buy 2 of these and flush mount them inside the front number plate! There only $29.95 MSRP!!!! AWESOME! dun dun dun duhhhhh! In these pics it also shows this cool army bag I got from a surplus store called green beret that I strapped to the open space in the frame. Its a perfect fit for my disc brake alarm, hair gel for when I get to work, and 2 25 ouncers for when im off work! ha happy scoot dude over here! The china Grom lives!

I dig it. Really clever idea. Probably a lot cheaper than a Grom and maybe faster too lol.

Can you still wheelie it with it extended like that? I'm curious. I'm really considering a beat up prebug so that I can practice wheelies on. I'm hoping that it will raise my cool level one point lol

Yeah it's actually not even extended its an illusion because I scooted all the body forward in comparison to the positioning of the Italian style build. ..
It does still have good wheelies. I'm just getting used to the hyd rear disc brake, it's way more sensitive and makes it harder to maintain a one wheeler.

Ithe top speed is a bit slower than a grom right now only hits like 55 but the acceleration is killer. It runs close with a honda cbr300 my friend owns in the neighborhoods.

Haha, at first I was like, what? Then I scrolled back up, saw the kick starter and realized that it's a 150. No wonder you can pull wheelies on it like that! Sweet.

yeah buddy! I always liked 2 smokers but the 150 has torque on demand and they hit like 60 from the factory so I decided to give one a try. My last 2 rigs were 2smoke vento triton and zuma 50cc but they took alot of modding to keep up with the 150 swapped rucks around here.
(Im like the only chinese scoot guy here, everyone else rides rucks or groms)

It barely looks like a scooter now. You really did one heck of a job on it.

One of the coolest projects I have seen. Also one of the most original. Nice work man.
