Cool episode. I don't usually watch that one because they cover things like potatoes and ice cream, but that was good. ;D Thanks.

I always liked the old saying, " Horsepower sells engines but torque wins races." Many semi tractor-trailers only put out 300-400+ horsepower but try to put a Lexus engine in one of those that puts out the same horsepower and move the freight. Most big truck engines put out well over 1000 ft. lb. of torque while turning a little over 2000 rpm. A Lexus might put out around 300 ft. lb. while turning 4000-6000 rpm. I hate to see publications that only give horsepower figures (like Consumer's Reports) and not torque figures.

I always liked the old saying, " Horsepower sells engines but torque wins races." A friend of mine used to say "it has enough torque to jerk God out of the Cosmos" haha.

Potatoes & ice cream....sounds like i found a new show to watch! ;D Seriously, i don't think i had anything close to an understanding of the difference between the big T and the big H till i got bak on 2 wheels. I still can't explain the difference but can sure feel it when i "twist the wrist".

I think this might display the definition of torque pretty well..
