Hi friends,
Does anyone know where to get SS allen-head carb bowl screws?
I couple of years ago I saw someone who had a whole ziplock bag of 'em on SD who was selling them cheap but I dont remember who it was. Those stock screws are a PITA. I remember having to remove 3 of the 4 with NN vice-grips on my 150 because there is just no way to get enough force with a phillips screwdriver. Cutting a slot with a hacksaw blade works too but I would rather replace them with some SS Allens.
Thanks all!

The more I think about it, the more I think it was possibly Rocketdog. I will ask him but if anyone knows of a source or knows the thread pitch and diameter of the screw so I can search for them it would be greatly appreciated!

It was RD. I'm pretty sure he can tell you the size.
EDIT : I found this info from one of his giveaway posts...
"This is for the standard China 24mm CV carb. Although they will work on a 18mm 49cc carb too. You get these 8 pieces.
4-4mmx.7x14mm Bowl Screws
2-4mmx.7x8mm Diaphragm Hat Screws <A very few have shoulder bolts stock and these won't work>
2-4mmx.7x25mm manifold clamp screw. <I have seen one clamp that was a 5mm. <RARE>"

Ah, yes the carb screws. PITA. I got mine out with an "impact driver" Replaced them with something more solid from the hardware store. I ended up getting screws that were slightly longer than the originals, but they worked fine.

A Google search didn't turn up much. I went to www.probolt-usa.com and sent a msg because I don't see them listed but maybe they can help. I will post where I eventually find them in-case someone else want/needs them. Goosey- My impact is MIA

If you go to a local mom and pop hardware store or Fastenall they will probably be able to order them for you if they don't have any. The only bad thing may be that you have to get them in a box or pack.

Well, once again it looks as if I need to have a "Great Carb. Screw Give AWAY". I've been threatening to. A good friend of mine owns a fastener company and he sells me SS Screws for almost nothing. It's the postage that's rough. Anyway, be that as it may, I haven't cut loose with one on this forum. As of yet. Give me a few days and I'll see what I can do.
