I decided to test fit the S6 9:3 gears in a spare set of CPI cases I have. It took some time to get the stock gears out and the S6 9:3 gears installed, but everything seemed to fit well and mesh tightly. Also there is almost zero slop in the primary shaft, which is unusual because all I have ever seen have at least some play in them. This was just a test so I will be taking the S6 9:3 gears back out of these spare cases. I do not have any immediate plans for the gears, but eventually I will try them in the Streetrace build to see if it can pull them, and me any faster.

I ended up putting the 9.3 gears in my 70cc streetrace build. I have around 200 hard miles on them so far with no problems. Considerable changes to the CVT tuning and I am not finished there yet. I am liking the way it pulls with the 9.3's Definitely not a wheelie machine but still gets the front wheel light.

I had the same experience with the 9:1 gears vs. 11:1- they did seem to pull fine and I didn't have any complaints about bottom end power. My problem was that they were limiting WOT RPM's so much that I actually lost top speed! Been trying to sort out my RPM issues ever since!

You had the 9:1's on your 100cc right?

I had a vento style rear wheel on the bench along with the gears so I decided to check the fit of the secondary output shaft to the wheel, and I am glad I did because it don't fit! This kind of stuff will drive you crazy. The stock shaft is 18 splines and 19.34 mm diameter. The stage 6 is also 18 splines but is 19.46 in diameter, and will not even start to go in the wheel. The shaft diameters where the gear presses on seem to be the same, I guess they could also be swapped, but would likely need a large press to do it. I have about had it with these seemingly poor tolerance, ill fitting parts. How much of a project is it to change out those gears , and how hard is it to do as well ?

It is fairly easy but you need a bottle jack press to get it gone right IMO. The 9:3 gearing is quite tall, so make sure you have enough motor to pull the gearing to your satisfaction.
