Some 40 grit sand paper will do great to round up the rear part of the seat. Great thinking!!!

I have been working on this little by little the last couple of weeks. I have quite a bit of time in it but I finished the seat pan part, so it is time to get the seat covered, somehow. I decided to get some prices for having the seat covered properly. One place quoted me $75-100 so I decided to look somewhere else. I stopped by a friends workplace to show the progress on the seat. It ends up my friend has a good friend that retired doing upholstery, and offered to check with him about covering it for me. My friend called the guy and he told her to bring it to him and he would take care of it. I told my friend I did not want to spend a lot $$ and that I just want a minimal job, she told me not to worry. So I gave her the seat and pan, and the old eaton seat cover that all the seams had come apart on. This was yesterday. I got this picture sent to me tonight.

Yeah, I cant wait to get my butt...er hands on it I don't even have a motor running for this scooter yet. I had no idea that it would be done so quick, I figured at least a week or 2.

I picked up the covered seat from my friend today. It came out very nice, definitely better than I was planning for. Despite the mud and drizzling rain I took it for a couple short runs down the road. It feels pretty comfortable so far. It sits a little tall now, but I plan to lower the rear shock a bit to balance it out. I also have a set of downhill bars and a stem to put on so hopefully I can get the bars closer to me now that I am further back. I have to figure a way to hide the ugly seat mount frame that sticks out the front.

You could make a cover plate for the front of the seat and convert it into a mini dash board holding maybe tach, temp gauge, or whatever. Not gauges you need to see all the time but, with a quick glance down, you could get your readings. Just a thought. Great job on the seat. Bill

I managed to get the front part of the mount moved back. At least that part looks better for now. So far this is a very comfortable ride. I have been adjusting the angle and height of the seat looking for the most comfortable position. I would like to get everything a little lower as the ride height is still just a hair tall.

I am looking at some options of how to deal with the space up front. This picture is of a quick mock up I did. The silver bubble wrap I used could be a pattern for metal or plastic. I also split the side panels where they join at the rear so i could move the front of the panels inward.

Great place to add a second fuel tank. Never have too much fuel tank.
