Hello, got another scoot to mess with.
A Honda...Again...
Got it for around 50$(30€) it was fully disassembled, But turned out it was missing only belly pan and piston rings.
Assembled all the engine, fired right up the first kick.
But then again i got unlucky with honda engine, as it turns out every single time....
Cranks bearing seats were not in a good shape, but i tought everything would be fine, because you guys make slip fit bearing seats on purpose,
but i guess it was too lose and made really bad grooves on the seats later on, and the engine made very bad noises while running.
So dissasembled it again, got to the fact that i need a new crank, bearings seals.
Got new bearings and then the fun part came on. Ignition side case's bearing seat were so loose, i could put the bearing with no heating or hammering at all...
I have no idea how did i miss it, but yeah, understood that i cant get cases like mine for a reasonable price (Honda dealership offered me 150€ for the small half and 190€ for the big case half + shipping from Japan) so i put the honda engine in a box, and placed in the deepest garage's corner, for a better day to come for it.
So later on a very good offer showed up on our scooter forum, minarelli drumbrake crankcases, ignition, flywheel, drivetrain, and a dead crank for 25€
So then started welding, grinding, swearing etc.
Got the subframe inside the frame with a loooot of struggle, but i did it.
Then assembled the engine, by the way, i did a LC conversion so i had to make a room somewhere to fit the radiator, which was a hard choice, because there are no space under the fairings...
So the engine setup was.
Stock ported cylinder
Leovince ZX pipe
Stock transmission with malossi red springs, both clutch and contra spring.
17.5mm DellOrto carb.
Top speed was only 80km/h because i couldn't get the carb in tune.
So i drove all summer without no problems and no fairings
Then came Scooter Season closing event as usual in my country.
I got ready, put on all the plastics, lights and changed the belt before the ride.
After 110km's driven a fcking brand new belt died, when removed my cvt cover, just a bunch of debris from the belt fell out... I was pretty pissed cause i was more than 100km from home and my scoot is not moving...
Got the scoot home on a trailer, later discovered that crankshafts splines are ripped too...
Soo about next season...
Planned setup for engine.
Dr Evo 70cc iron cast cylinder
Im still thinking about the pipe tho.
17.5carb
Stock transmission
Stock crank
Inner rotor ignition
Hope it all comes true.
I will sort out the text later on, when i will be home @ pc
