What about installing a new big end bearing or even a decent/cheap rod kit on that crank?A well kept crank usually only needs a new bearing as the cage wears out first,,Just a thought... Yeah that would be cheaper indeed. But i can't press rods myself...i don't have a press nor a gauge to measure runout Thats why i adopted the rule to never buy 2nd hand cranks because i can't measure or repair them myself....i have to go with the best and rely on factory new quality. Or have every new crank measured and serviced before use...but thats a bit overkill and pricey. I just stick with only buying new cranks until i can work on them myself.

Nobody in your town that can do crank rebuilds for a reasonable price?? Sure there are. But im really picky when it comes to rebuilding cranks and who does it. It costs a lot of money and when i can't afterwards determine the quality of work done to it i just automaticly want the best. Just to cover myself and have the least chance of faulty work and problems. A new crank is most of the time cheaper...and when i want have one rebuilt there's only one company where i wan't to have that done: VHM! I know how precise you have to be (and can be) with cranks. You know i've done an internship @ VHM...you might know them for their famous golden 2T cylinderheads and special racing cranks widely known in the MX scene worldwide. To give you an example of the gravity of this company. They currently supply the American Pro Circuit Kawasaki MX GP team with custom cranks and a lot of former European GP125 and GP250 teams with their in house designed and build cranks and (eliptical) pistons. They recently have build their own complete ICC kart engine to be superior to the ever ruling TM KZ engine! Rocketscience is going on there, two stroke engineering to the max. Apparently two stroke is still alive! Here are some nice pics about VHM! www.facebook.com/vhmracingproducts/?fref=tsEveryone knows these (they have heads for Polini Evo and Malossi MHR kits too!) They make these themselves. With thungsten and/or copper weight inserts for inertia tuning VHM special ICC engine. All CNC'd and designed and build in-house They even have their own cylinders! I learned to work with solidworks there and drew up a lot of parts like crankwebs, reed cages, cylinderheads and carbs. Dellorto VHSH 30 Minarelli Polini Evo and Malossi inserts

I found the gearset i bought is rated at 14% longer over stock. Stock gear teeth count is 12/43. The DR kit is 13/41. Stage 6 has a similar set for €60! Makes me even more happy about the €12,50 i paid

Sooo I ordered some parts so I can have it back on the road soon (I hope ). They should be in the mail somewhere next week. Bought a new 50cc cylinder, new variator, crank bearings, airfilter and some other bits. So I should be able to have the engine done soon. Im thinking to do some porting to the exhaust port, raise timing a bit for more power. Im really curious what the stock port timings are.

Looking good!I see a bit of weld repair on the exhaust mount... Yep you've seen that right John! It was done by a previous owner. They look like sturdy welds though so im gonna leave em as they are.

I just noticed that motor looks just like the Honda af16 and the Kymco sc10 True, peugeot adopted their engines from Honda. The only difference are the engine mount location and these engines also came in l.c. and rear disk braked version. There might be other slight differences though but i don't really know the true Honda engines so i cant compare.
