You are right, there is a point where being alive is not living. I hate to say stuff like that for fear that it will be taken wrong, but I am sure u know what I mean. My Aunt and Uncle had a 19 year old chi-weenie dog. At 15 she was blind in one eye, at 16 she was striken with daily multiple siezures. 17 brought cancer, and numerous surgeries, but that Imo, was just too late. One morning, the dog, Susie, woke up to go out, fell six inches off of the bottom step, and broke two legs. Shedied on the way to the vet. Through each vet visit etc, my aunt/uncle suffeted nearly as much as Susie did. Everyone that knew them knew how they loved that dog, but they knew that her suffering was terrible. My uncle, admited feeling guilty for keeping her alive, but said he couldnt loose her either. It was easy for any body out of the situation to see that prolonging her life was a form of torture, but Susie was their child.
I feel for you brother. You know that you have family here that are happy to be here for ya, if you need to talk, or whatever.

Good that Torque is feeling better.
I was talking to my wife about him yesterday. We both hope you can enjoy the time you have with him.
It is a hard choice deciding what is best for you both, we will be thinking of you.

Thanks all... Its been rough.. Feelings are all over the place lately. Seems like one minute I am solid as a rock and the next my knees are trembling at the thought.
I crawled out of bed this AM and laid with him on his bed and just cried. He started licking my face as if he was saying "its ok dad. shit, I am right here. Ya act like I am dead and gone already"
At least this is the impression I was getting from him.
Today I call and talk to the vet more. I will keep you all posted.

He is laying here now with a headache. I know its another one because he will moan with every breath unless i rub his head. I wonder if peppermint oil will work on dogs like it does us?
If you rub a bit of that stuff on your temples it will help, or get rid of most headaches.

WoW, good looking PiTT! Reminds me of Torquers lil girlfriend. Shes got more of a Fawn color to her though. Here she is with him a couple years ago. Shes gotten a little bigger and much wiser.   He got to see her Saturday and was so happy! I was happy for him.. |
