Thanks Upgrayed. She's only eating very small amounts but she is drinking water. The family will be back today and that may help raise her spirits.

I have water trays all over inside and out. Bought some cheap ice cube trays so I can add ice to outside bowls when it's really hot.
Dave, try tempting her with goodies like a little sour cream or tuna. My mom had a cat that eventually all his teeth fell out. She ended up feeding him meat baby foods and then using a blender to puree foods for him.

Thanks, we put ice in her bowl too. She likes it and will just sit and look at us by the bowl until we add it. She only has 1 or 2 teeth left and she's actually 17 yrs old now. I dice up her soft food and she's eating a little this morning but she's all bones. I'll mention the other foods to my wife now that she's home. It's just a matter of time. The poor, stinky thing is old but she's sweet and it's a bummer. I play the strong roll for my wife but it's sad and bothers us both.

We have water bowls all over, yet they all wait for the bathtub water after a shower. Cats and dogs. Weird. 2TDave, my thoughts are with you there. Also try yogurt?

Thanks Goosey! She are a little better this morning. I think she's happier with the family home.

At that age, little things in their routine can upset them. She may have felt abandoned by them. Maybe next time, let them talk to her on the phone, may sound crazy but a friend went in the hospital for surgery and her dog wouldn't eat. I finally called her house and the dog ate after she talked to him, and her kids and adult son were there so he knew he wasn't totally abandoned.

Yeah she was my wife's daughter's cat originally way before me and she lost weight and pulled out a bunch of her hair when the daughter left for college. At 17 and a bag of bones she can't afford to not eat. Today is a better day for her. Thanks for all the thoughts it means a lot to this ole tuff guy.

poor little Tanis has an upper resp infection. got him meds but he gags so he ends up losing all it. last night he crawled into my shirt and slept there all night. seems to want to do the same tonight. guess he likes the warmth, lol. gotta make sure he lets me change into a sleep shirt first though.
surprising thing is my son couldn't believe I didn't roll over on him cause I usually toss 'n turn cause of restless leg syndrome. but I told him that I never rolled over on him when he was a baby so why should a kitten be any different. guess he didn't realize that moms get exhausted when we got a new baby and we sleep any chance we get, at least the first couple months

Well the old stinky girl wondered off last night. We suspect to go to cat nip heaven. She's an inside cat but would go out in the driveway for the warmth on her old bones but last night while we were in and out of the garage she walked off. No sign of her this morning and normally she's squawking at the first sign of life for food or ice water. I drove the neighbor hood but I we suspect she went off in one of the preserves and laid down. Rest well little Brownie.

drawer full of kitties - how many can you find - hint : there's 5 of them Tanis in my shirt: Don't know why it's not showing right, I rotated it on photobucket. This cat wandered to our house today, we let him come in out of the rain. Son decided he should be called Ninja cause he was like a ninja with a squeaky mouse and he is so quiet:
