well the kittens are growing . took em to the vet 2 days ago. he said they seem really healthy . no problems . he gave em worm med. , and 2 cans of kitten food and a bag of kitten food plus some pamphlets and some rub on flea med to apply in another month . found 2 homes for both of em . realized I can't have any rambunctious kittens here in the house with my mom. she'd end up on the floor. I looked back at the other post when they were just 2-3 days old ? and I think they were born on Sept 11- which makes them a month old today

Usain Bolt is the fastest human being in history. Officially . The great Olympian can reach a top speed of 27 mph-
this guy can reach 30-35 mph in short ?? bursts . I'm guessing 40-60 ft. that's not that far for a 11' gator . in other words , if he wants you , and you're close enough , you're toast.

they can also push themselves straight up out of the water ... for 5' with the use of their tail

Jloi,your white bird in the bushes looks like a great white egret but those are not the best images,they are native to the USA,here's a picture of one that turned up in the UK just half a mile from my garden I took the picture through a telescope a long long way off.  Your hawk picture is to grainy to even guess the make/model  Geoff |

yeah , I tried to sneak closer but when I got there he had flown . I'm pretty sure you're right about it being Great White Heron . isn't that something that he's ? over there . what a great long distance picture . and thru a telescope ?? wow .
sometimes I see the big grey ones too . I think they are herons too .

we see that hawk all the time . there is a retention pond close by and sometimes he hangs out there on the fence. flew up right in my face a while back when I came around the corner . so close I could have touched him . startled both of us .

well, we do live in Florida . we have a guest in the dining room . I didn't even bother trying to catch him /her or herd it out . I think if you click on it and then on the new image it will enlarge  |

they look really scifi to me . cool looking tho. how big do they get. maybe wouldn't want to meet them in a dark river. they probably eat crawfish huh? and bugs ? I had to check- Hellbender- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hellbender basically a salamander ; giant ones - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_giant_salamander for some reason I keep thinking of that movie little shop of horrors . you might wake up in bed one morning with this guy next to you . |

Back in may I told y'all about Trixie my border collie and a lump on her neck.she had her check up today and we had decided to spend "some" money if needed,the check up and booster injections were paid for in a deal years ago,the vet syringed the lump away!!! Said it might return but just leave it till check up and amazingly no charge .it,s a nice day.
