Hey all, Wondering if someone could give me some insight on my 50cc 2014 taotao. It has approx 2000 miles on it. It was stolen and recovered. After i got it back i managed to start it no problem, i even drove it about 12 miles and it ran smooth. I even turned it off and on 3-4 times without an issue. The next day I tried to start it with no luck. I swapped out the carb, sparkplug, ignition coil and i added new gas to it, I can see gas flowing to the carb from the petcock when I crank the engine. I did manage to get it at the point where it was idling ok, but under acceleration it would completely loose power and stall. If i accelerated very slowly it would turn the wheel maybe 5-10 mph but thats as far as I could get it. Now its just very hard to start. I'm getting spark and i can feel the compression with finger on sparkplug hole. I also switched the CDI and the battery is fully charged
Thanks for any help I really appreciate it!

sounds like whoever stole it, put the wrong, or bad gas in it,, i would, take the gass line off, just above the pet, and drain, then swish, with a little fresh and drain again,, watch what comes out;; good luck also change fuel filter

Sounds like an air/vacuum leak maybe. Possibly a cracked intake elbow. I have seen one that was cracked and the engine would idle but when you open the throttle the vacuum increase would open the crack and it would bog out cause excess air was entering the head in front of the carb.
Is there an air filter on the carb and is it a stock one? No air filter at all usually = Bog city.

There was a small layer of water in the gastank when I looked close with a flashlight. Emptied everything out and swished around some new gas. Seems to be running fine now. Now i just need to find a way to patch the tiny hole I have in the rear tire. Thanks for everyones help!

Good job finding the water. The best way to fix a tire is to take the tire off and patch the hole on the inside. The other option is a tire plug.
