Watched this the other day about a shifter kart . Just looking at it in the video. It looks like a watercooled 2 stroke with a huge flat side carb and exhaust. Now if we could get our scoots to rip this quick. Dang! youtu.be/BZDwL2xuzkU |

I think some of them use the Rotax engine like in the Aprilia Rs

There is a kart place close to my house. Last time I was in there I was checking out the engines. Looked like all of the top class are powered by rotax 2t don't know if they are purposefully built for karts but haul ass. I have seen them with all types of engines in them.

Lots of them run Honda CR125's,from there is Rotax and then the 250 stuff with twin crank motors..Tightly regulated to keep cheating to the minumum..$$

But that guy could hardly hang on and shift gears at the same time. He needed a paddle shift. Like a mini formula 1. |
