Hey there so got a cool idea id like to paint the engine with some paint that goes from a dark silver or black colore to a nice green as the engine warm up. my engine area is pretty open and easily viewable and theres this particular shade of green that im very fond of. im even thinking of putting in some form of light to illuminate the engine for night rides. Does anybody know where i can get this kind of paint and if anyone has ever done something like this to a scooter?

AFAIK thermochromic paints are not intended for high temps or UV exposure. A clear coat could protect from UV, but engine temps would need some special formula I'd guess. Most seem to be made to change somewhere between room temp and body temp.

What about color changing plastics? Say in the form of a cooling shroud. Just a thought
