Gotta love newegg (tiger direct treats me well too). Looks like the PSU should arrive tomorrow just w/standard shipping.

Nice. Tiger ships out of Chicago, so I usually get my stuff in 2 days. Before I knew that I once ordered a monitor from there express shipping, took 3 weeks, LOL. I guess they put it on a plane that had to go around the country a couple times. My favorite refurb store. Newegg is also good. Choices, and prices are good.

New Egg was great, till they built a warehouse in Memphis. Now I have to pay 10% State sales tax.
Just so you know. A few years ago I stayed at a motel in East TN. Someone at the desk stole my CC # and Tiger Direct let them charge a Palm Pilot to my account and ship it to a Knoxville address. I don't do business with them any more.

I'm lucky with NewEgg. They aren't far away in NJ, just as close as they'd be in parts of MD... but far enough not to pay sales tax. ;D
I don't know if I could hold that against a company or not RD. I mean, I myself have shipped things as gifts and have appreciated not having to ship to me, then to them, to save me money.

Well I do. I understand your point, however. I just didn't appreciate it much.

I'm sure you didn't. It sucks how companies can't do things that are convenient for you because people use that to steal.

Got the new PSU in. Not as bad as I thought it would turn out, but I still do like the modular better. Could be better than it is, but I don't care that much about how it looks as long as wires aren't blocking any more airflow than they have to. I got a new badge to add to the collection from Corsair. lol I keep these under the front cover cause I don't want everyone to see all my horsepower at a glance. Sleeper. Gotta fix the tailgate on the truck today. Cabinet is up and looking fine. Nice. :thumb:

Looking good. Is that an Alaska GPU cooler I can see there? I've got one of them, the stock coolers aren't up to much overclocking. I've got a total of 7 fans in my PC

I don't have a GPU cooler, just what's built into it with 2 fans that blow out the rear of the case. The carb below it is a tv tuner / vid cap card. I like that they space out the SLI slots, just a shame if you only run one graphics card you have to stick any PCI card right up against it.
2 fans on the Noctua, 2 fans on the rear, 1 fan on the front, 1 on the PSU if you wanna count that. lol
4 expansion slots for 120mm fans on the side, 1 spot up top and 1 down bottom for 80mm. I was gonna add more later, but I don't seem to need it. For just surfing and not doing much, it stays right around 20C and it's whisper quiet. My old system ran 40 or more doing next to nothing and was much more audible. lol That Noctua is a beast for the price.

That Noctua takes up like 1/4 of the case! I've been running a CoolerMaster GeminII S with no complaints. Handles an overclock from 2.66 to 4.0 GHz and still stays at 40C under load. I bet I could push it even further with that thing :burnout:

Yeah, even knowing how big the fans were it was a surprise to open the box on the cooler. lol A lot of folks had problems with it in smaller cases and problems with memory. Luckily, reading enough reviews confirmed that I would be fine so I got it. It's pretty pitiful looking at what came with the processor and then looking at the Noctua. It's good for shock value if nothing else. lol Again though, my idea was kinda overkill on the cooling to try and increase longevity. The original PSU didn't like my plan.
