Just a rant here, if you don't like bitchin' and moanin'... nothin' to see here, move along. lol
So, tomorrow is my mother's birthday. My father wanted to get her a cabinet that he saw at Lowes because it matches the vanity in the bathroom. It's 115lbs and he could load it by himself, but he's 63 and I'd prefer that he doesn't. I went to Lowes with him last night to pick it up. Walked out to his truck and when I went to open the tailgate, the handle broke off. :censored:
I picked it up and put it over the tailgate and then we proceeded to wrestle a drop cloth in the wind to get it wrapped/covered since it had been raining and was misty out. Took it home and unloaded it. One of the pieces was damaged. A small chunk was kinda busted out of it near a pre-drilled hole. It was on the outside, but my father said he'd just try to glue it first to avoid unnecessary hassle. Turns out, it looks like crap and it's still obvious it was damaged. :swear:
I packed it up and met him on his lunch break to exchange it today. That was actually easier than I though, no questions asked. Cool. So I get it back and unload it and unbox it. Well, we had just quickly lifted it straight up and onto a flatbed cart, never looking at the bottom of the box... which had a tear in it. You guessed it, there's a 4-5" gouge in the outside section of a panel.
I get it packed and taped back up, with the last of my packing tape (again, it's 115lbs so it takes a bit to make it secure to move). Then I walked inside and realized I forgot to pack part of it back in the box. At that point, I said :censored: this thing and I sat down to post this.
Now I get to go cut it back open and load it up and figure out how to secure it. Then I'm going to put it back in the truck, another 25 miles round trip to meet him and I guess he wants to exchange it again. I'd be considering buying a different one elsewhere, but it's his call and it really does match what he wants it to match well. Son of a...
Sorry, had to vent.
