Who's playing?
I'm driving to California in a little while. I'm thinking 1.4 Billion Dollars is worth the gas money. I already have a lot of it spent, so wish me luck!

Good luck.
My parents played the last and I think are playing this one. If they ever win I guess I'll eat my words, but I always figure 99.999999% of people will end up with more money by never gambling. Between the 2 of them, my mother and father spent over $30 on tickets. There's $30 more that could have been in your wallet. I had a lotto subscription as a gift for a few years. The buyer spent a few hundred dollars. I won $30 over 3 years by getting a few numbers here and there, with participation in every drawing.
I'm like this about all gambling, though I have bought a few lottery tickets in my life. I went to a casino with my father prob 10 years ago because he wanted to go to their buffet. On the way out he tells me I need to at least try playing slots or something. I said no. I'll keep my money. He insisted and said he'd put money in a machine because I just have to try it once. Fine. He put $1 IIRC in a slot machine of my choice. I won $25 immediately. He said there you go, now you can play for a while. I said hell no, we just made $24 in 30 seconds. That's the best I'll ever do and I'm cashing out.

I mean, I can understand spending a few bucks on a ticket and just dreaming about what you'd do with over a billion bucks but spending any more than that on the lottery is just dumb.

I've always liked the quote: "The lottery is a tax on the ignorant." I love that quote! That being said, yeh- I spent $6 on powerball. Consider my taxes paid...

Yeah, I never gamble either and I live in Vegas. Well, I've gambled a few time but have never lost more than 20 dollars. I feel like and idiot if I lose 5 dollars. I have the same mentality about Gambling as you Brent; I'd rather keep my money than risk losing it. At least not on gambling. But this is 1.4 BILLION dollars. I figure I'll risk 20 dollars and a few more for gas since I only have to drive to the state line, which is half hour drive. Oh, and the 3 hour wait in line

I thought you were kidding, but alright, I'll try one with that number. I still haven't gone because I had to sign some papers this morning and didn't want to risk it because of the stupid long lines. Anyway... We'll see what happens.

Usually the ones who win don't need it in the first place. The ones who can't pay the bills usually never win. I guess I won't win.

We had a local guy that didn't have two nickels to rub together win here in Missouri a few years back. He's made some pretty good decisions and is worth more than he originally won. It's rare but it does happen.

It's rare but it does happen. That is exceedingly rare. Most winners end up a wreck. BTW- I am not playing. Lotteries are like Vegas, -the house always wins. What are the odds, -something like 1 in almost 300 trillion, some list it as million, but it is ridiculous ? -I have an old 70's framed political cartoon on the wall of a lottery ticket titled "The Stupidity Tax". But hey, if you must play GOOD LUCK!!!

I figure that you won't win if you don't play. I gamble less than once per year, unless you count hoping on a weed eater on steroids and braving traffic daily. Lol. I am going to play tonight. I'm gonna get a quick pick with maybe 20 bucks. Maybe I can break even? Or just lose.
