Little change of plans, I did not go for the C16.
Malossi USA has a sick sale on Piaggio parts, got the old reference MHR Racing exhaust for $219. Cannot say no to that, especially for the fact that the "simple" MHR cylinder it was designed for runs 189° exhaust timings (although they run a wider 2 port exhaust port). Either way, super happy to get some cheap malossi stuff, there might also be a ignition on the way...

So, little update, as I cant leave this behind. Some winter fiddling: Broken exhaust bolt: As it turned out, I was running 1.10+mm squish, which is a bit high. Port timings were 190/132(135Boost) Went down to 0.87mm, Running now 189/131. This made me think... 190/130 was the old MHR Racing engine. So i looked around and found delicious Malossi prices, almost 50% off for the old MHR Racing stuff. Required a LOT of snooping and asking So we decided to go a MHR Racing exhaust (pre 2007). At the same time, a friend sent me a MHR Racing Inner Rotor, also the old reference. Missing the CDI box, which will come later (updated version) Started tonight, on the kitchen table, taking the Ignition apart. Drove 40mins to find someone with a 26x1.00 flywheel puller who also borrowed me a Dial Indicator, even in mm! I tried to create a mount for that thing... but let us not go there... it was stupidly horrible... So tripod and gopro stuff will work as a stand too for the gauge. That will happen tomorrow, so I can dial in the ignition at its proper timing and just wait for CDI and exhaust, which are coming from good ol' Italy.

Nice parts. How will you power the lights now, or are you making this a track bike?

I'd like to cut in to not only say awesome write up/scooter, but also that you are one lucky fella! Not only do you seem to have a fiance that is tolerant of your scooter infatuation, but she is willing and able to ride and turn a wrench! My significant other gets glossy eyed when I start talking scooter mechanics of any level and has only rode with me once when, unbeknownst to me, she was half drunk. She did promise me the other night that she would come out to learn more about them and ride with me again, sober (I got her to join the dark side of sobriety with me). Now to get her to pilot one. Anyways, congrats on the awesome race modded female, and please keep writing for us!

And if she would hang around in the garage not knowing what i was doing and i had to explain everything all the time. And girls with technical knowledge are a bit creepy i think...the same as when a guy would know everything about make up. I'd hate it even more if she rode along since im always speeding and girls are most of the time really careful in traffic so she would keep holding me up. Idk, it's a guys thing in my opinion. The same as your girl would keep hanging around when you're drinking with your bro's. She can hang around but please, don't meddle or interfere.
