I think it just saved my life. I just put an open air filter and adjusted the valves (which were at .0015  for china) and took it for a test run. nice and level stretch. Doin an indicted 48 and ...wait....whats that in the distance? could it be? WHY YES!! one of Carys finest. I hit the front so hard it chirped the tire. I believe it would have locked totally if it had not been for that little ABS valve. Saved me from getting a ticket too because when he drove by, he was giving me a HARD STARE.
That stretch of road then goes down a hill curving to the right. it hit 60 indicated going down that and never has before. These engines really seem to respond well to the right changes.
I have seen posts about the ABS on the front, to take it off and such.. Well I do believe it saved my skin today!

I've removed the "ABS" valves on both of my Tritons and they still won't lock up the front tire or chirp it even. It could just be because I'm heavy? It may do it on wet roads? I'm not sure because I don't apply the brake as hard in wet weather. I'm not saying people should remove their ABS. It doesn't seem to give me any more stopping power by allowing full pressure. So basically it was a pointless mod in my case. I suppose I dropped 1/4 lb of weight and one less part to hang off the front.
The ABS on these is nothing more than a valve that only allows so much pressure to be applied. No fancy traction sensing or pulsating or anything like real ABS.

I know that little ABS canister is kind of a marketing ploy but, it does its job on dry land. Saved my skin once too. Now on a wet road fugetaboutit. Lock, slide, and hang on!!! Heres a Noob question. Can the ABS canister be adjusted at all? I know it has the fake adjustment nut on the bottom but it doesn't really do anything Is there a screw or pin/ needle inside that makes any difference? Just curiouse. I was gonna remove it but decided not to cause it just may help someday

I dunno, lots of ppl just take it off. You do get a better feel of the brake with it off (less spongy). Im gonna leave mine. I took it off my 150 though since it was heavier and the brake feel was much better.
