Just recently purchased a used Peace 50 moped/scooter.
I was wondering what would be the best way to get some more speed (currently averaging 20-30 mph, 20 uphill, 30 on flat, 35 downhill)
What mods can be done to the scooter?
EDIT: I know you cant do much to it or so ive been told. But im looking for any small improvement that will get alittle more out of the scooter so I dont have to go buy a totally new scooter. Plus I like the scooter lol. Its nice =)

:welcome2:
The first thing I'd suggest is to get it in tune. Sometimes the carburetor is not tuned very well, especially main jet size, stock. Simply taking the time to make sure it's jetted properly and adjusting the idle mixture and needle settings can show an improvement.
It's also a good idea to tune the CVT with roller or slider weights. A lot of these scoots are sold with heavy roller weights in the variator that keep the RPM low. The goal is to get the RPM to stay around peak power, which should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 7500RPM stock. If RPM is too low you use lighter weights to increase it. heavier weights decrease RPM.
If you can't get it to rev that high, you may have a rev limited CDI which should be replaced.
Once you get beyond the basics, the biggest bang for your buck is going to be a big bore kit. BBKs provide all around power increases.

you did not say how many miles on the scooter. Besides what 90gtvert said make sure tires are pumped up. I use 30 lbs front and 35 lbs rear.

The Scoot has 2200 miles on it and I'm sure it is probably do for a valve adjustment which I am fixing to do very soon. I took the restrictor out of the variator and checked to see if I could find a wire on the CDI that would indicate it was restricted but I didn't see any such wire (If I was even looking for the right thing *Pinkish? Loop wire*) I checked the exhaust to be sure it didn't have any restrictor where it bolts to the block and didn't see anything. Not sure what to check in the Carb but I am starting to shop around for some mods ( New CDI, 5 and 7 gram rollers and a up size Jet and air flow system for it but now sure exactly what I should get. I'm not looking to get into the BBK just yet. Work is brutal and not much time at all to do it anyway or much of anything at that matter. Next question is what is the difference between the: 139QMB & 1P39QMB? If I just start out doing a Jet and Air flow system, what would you recommend? next question is I notice that when I take off from a stop (say from a light) The engine will take off fast then drop RPM drastically and slowly speed up from about 15mph and on. Is that the result of a restricted CDI? Or is that valves? of is that weights? or a bit of all? **This is the info on my scooter as best I could find. ** 1P39QMB Single-cylinder,four-stroke,forced air-cooled electric/kick start 50cc SPECIFICATION Displacement: 49.5ml Compression ratio: 10.5:1 Primary reduction: 0.8—2.4 Bore*Stroke:39mm*41.4mm Max.Net Power & Rotating Speed:2.2kw/7500r/min Rated Power & Rotating Speed:1.8kw/7500r/min Max.Torque & Rotating Speed:2.6N.m/6000r/min Min.Fuel Consumption: ≤450g/kw.h Idling Speed:1700r/min Ignition:CDI Starter:Electric starter/Kick starter Lubrication: Pressure/splash Transmission: automatic drive speed thanks for the input and sorry for the slow response. Like I said work is brutal

Next question is what is the difference between the: 139QMB & 1P39QMB? There's supposed to be no difference, although a lot of people with Peace scooters have reported 44mm bores stock on the P designations. With the speeds you report, it's either restricted elsewhere or not the bigger bore. If it's not he CDI, I don't think it's restricted. Hard to tell without knowing the RPM. If I just start out doing a Jet and Air flow system, what would you recommend? UNI or similar filter. 85-88-90 main jet probably. next question is I notice that when I take off from a stop (say from a light) The engine will take off fast then drop RPM drastically and slowly speed up from about 15mph and on. Is that the result of a restricted CDI? Or is that valves? of is that weights? or a bit of all? Sounds like you need lighter weights.

I have some 6g OKO rollers for sale if you are interested. That will help your takeoff and acceleration. $12 shipped.
