Starting to mod my triton and I have a few questions. I bought a Leo Vance zx pipe from a guy on the forum here Im going to order a BBK from scrappydawg. They have one that is around 100$ then they have another that is 139$ that says it has an aluminum Nikasil coating. Is the coating worth it? Are scrappy dawgs kits pretty good? I'm also ordering there performance variator and a set of jets from 80-100 Will I also benefit from an aftermarket intake? Or will I need a new carb? I'll also be ordering a new needle bearing for my BBK Anything else I'm missing? Will I benefit from running just the pipe on my stock setup? Just curious

I've never owned any of the kits sold by scrappy, but their aluminum kit doesn't get the best reviews for quality. If you do get an aluminum kit form anywhere, yes you need a coating. Aluminum is too soft, so that's why all aluminum cylinders are plated. I like the iron kits for street scoots. They are more durable and can be used for longer periods without the expense of re-coating etc... (having the plating redone can cost more than some whole BBKs). If you wwann order from scrappy, I'd go with the iron kit. Personally, I'd look at Autotech355 on eBay for a cheap cast iron 70cc or even a Polini or Malossi Sport kit or something similar. If you want to go with aluminum, definitely get a good brand IMO.
Good call on the jets. Never used the vari scrappy sells. I do have multiple varismade by Hoca and sold by Parts For Scooters that work very well and cost about $50. Scrappy's may be just as good, I can't say.
I wouldn't bother with a new intake or carb at this point unless you go with an aluminum kit or something beyond a sport kit. Even then, I wouldn't choose a giant carb like the 28mm that they sell. A 19mm or maybe even 21mm carb (DellOrto is my preference) would cover it other than maybe some serious high revving kits. Either of those will fit a stock intake, although it may need slight modification. An aftermarket reed cage with carbon fiber reeds might be a better investment at this point. Again, get a quality reed setup. I have had the one scrappy sells and I have multiple Malossi and Polini setups. The quality of the Malossi and Polini stuff (especially Malossi) has made me never go back to the cheaper generic CF reed setups.
Smart move to replace the small end bearing.
The pipe should give you a gain in upper RPM power on the stock setup. It should really help out a lot on the 70cc. It's usually a good idea to accompany a tuned pipe with stiffer clutch springs to make up for the low end torque that is lost with the addition of the pipe.

When you say you had a variety from parts for scooters that were $50 is that for a whole set from 80-10? And main jets come in increments of 5 right? So 80 85 90 so on ?

Ah makes way more sense lol. Hey I've been wanting to remove my rear fender. The other day I removed all the visible obvious fasteners to get off the two rear plastic peices and I just couldn't seem to get them off. Any tips or tricks on how to get this off? Maybe some pics that could illustrate? Thanks for answering all the questions. You seem to be very knowledgable when it comes to the scoots

It's been a long time since I've removed mine, so I can't remember all of the details. The fender that sits right above the tire should just be some nuts and bolts that you can see easily. The long mudflap that extends down from the tail light needs more work. IIRC you need to remove the tail light to get it off and there may be some hardware under the rear fairings. Again, it's been over a year at least since I've done one. You'll have to relocate the rear turn signals too. I do have info on that. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=igneleclight&action=display&thread=388

mine had a 12 but you will need to check to make sure. I can't remember but some can tell by the size of the shaft at the vari.

Pre-2003 should be 10mm. 2003 could be either. 2003+ are 12mm. If the splines on the crank are 16mm OD it's gonna be the 12mm pin. If the splines have about a 13mm OD it should be a 10mm pin.

The 13 and 16 are the actual crank measurements. 18 and 21 are the variator drive boss measurements. 13/18, 16/21.
