Havnt looked at the needle yet but I put in an 85. Took it down the street again at about 1/8 throttle. Ran ok but when I let off the throttle to turn around and come back it bogged and almost died. Letting it cool now. Pin out is rich pin in is lean right?

raise the needle or "out" is rich, lower the needle or "in" is lean.

Raised the needle one notch and now it bogs out at anything more then the slightest amount of throttle. I can go down the street at about 2mph. Gonna put the needle back to the middle stock setting any ideas?

Lowered the needle one notch leaner then how it was set up stock just for curiosity ran the best so far but still couldn't get very many rpms out of it the it made a weird sound and died putting needle back in the middle and upjet to a 90?

Needle back to middle put in a 90 main jet. Still bogs at about 1/4 throttle. I'm boggled. taking a break now. Any ideas?

you might want to try working up from the stock setup, as in put the stock pipe back on. on the off chance that the after-market pipe is a problem for the stock carb/filter?

Put the stock pipe back on with an 80 main. Needle in middle position. Started right up and ran the best so far got up to maybe 25-27 and she started to bog. Let off the throttle, she would come back then phmrrrp dies very suddenly. Since it runs fine up to 1/4 throttle does this mean I need to adjust my needle? Sigh

hard to get it up on the mj when the midrange is a mess.. my guess is to raise the needle, but raise or lower it should give you direction. you are running the stock air box and the rubber connector is installed with no leaks?

i begin to wonder if the problem is so much the jetting or another problem. after all my cast iron bbk ran 45 mph with a 95 mj and the needle full rich and now i am down to a 75mj with the needle in the middle. i even started with a 9 not 8 heat range plug. i got bogging when i went to a 100mj. true i did all this with temps mostly in the 20's. i know i reset the float height and went through the fuel delivery system. i removed the intank filter and the vac operated petcock and went to 1/4" fuel lines. flow out of the tank was slow till i removed that intank filter..it might be worth checking it out, since my setup ran with such a wide range of settings. also when was the last time the air filter was cleaned?

I cleaned the air filter a few weeks ago when I got the scoot it was clean even before I cleaned it. Preatty sure theres no leaks in the intake all the rubber is in decent looking shape. I'll change the needle and seemhow it goes... Someone asked me if my head or base gasket is leaking and causing lean condition. It would worry me if that was the problem since I had so much trouble getting my cylinder on it would be hard to get it back off. Could the fact that the cylinder was hard to get in be a problem?

How was it hard to install? Tough to get over the rings or didn't wanna fit in the case or....

i got a compression tester from harbor freight for around $10. i had to spin the whole gage to screw it in the plug hole but it told me my new to me scooter had no compression..might be worth checking the compression before chasing other details. the bbk i removed from the scooter was an airsal aluminum but it had hung a ring on a port.. i made sure to chamfer the ports on the new cylinder, and check the rings end gap.. one more thing, did you run the new install to warm up the new cyl and head, then retorque?

Piston went in nice and easy it was trying to get it to go into the case that was the problem. EmbarrAssed to say it but i got it in as far as I could shove it then I put the old cylinder head on and used the head nuts turning like a 1/4 turn at a time in a crisscross pattern till it seated all the way :/ Then put the new head on. I did retourqe after letting it warm up but honestly I don't know if im using my new wrench right. It has inch pound increments. So like 120 inch pounds just divide by 12 and thats 10 ft lbs? Also my scoot ran perfect before the BBK

i used 15 ft-lbs but i think i read where 13 is the number. any way i did the 15 then the warm up, i experienced a lot of take up on the retorque, like the compression gasket did not fully compress the first time around..
