TIA for reading. I recently purchased a used 2010 BMS Heritage 150. I got it when it had 73 miles on it and just from test driving around and getting it home I see that the odometer is working fine. Both the speedometer and gas gauge don't budge though. I know this scooter was previously crashed hard enough to break off half the front fender, and currently suspect that's when the gauges went out too. What do I need to look for to see if this is something that needs new speedometer/gas gauge, connection adjustment, or something else?

The speedometer and the odometer are cable actuated so it's an internal fault in the speedometer itself if the odo works but the needle doesn't move.
The fuel gauge is electronic and is activated by a float inside the fuel tank that may be faulty or just stuck. Your fuel tank is under the floor board. To get to it you must first remove the rear plastics which come off in one piece.
Order of body removal: 1 Luggage rack (4 fasteners) 2 Remove the 4 bolts under seat and seat/tub come straight up and off together connected at the seat hinge. 3 L/R grab bars 4 Now remove 2 bolts at the very rear end of scooter that pass through the chrome accent piece 5 Remove the bolt in the center of the plastic just behind seat latch 6 Two bolts just above the passenger foot pegs that pass through the metal accent pieces L/R
At this point, you want to grab the plastics on the front side and pull upward to unsnap them from the floor panel just above the gas cap door. Once they release from the floor panel, you have to move the entire piece backwards about 4-5 inches and then you can lift it up some to release the seat latch cable from the key mechanism and then unplug the rear tail light power connection and then you can set that whole piece aside.
Next the floor panel comes off. If you have the metal foot plates on yours they have to come off, the 4 bolts under them and the passenger foot pegs, and the two lower side plastics L/R. Then that floor piece will lift up and unsnap from the knee panel with some persuasion. Your float will be like the one in this video.
