Great review, thanks gsx600racer ! Trailtech in my IMO is the biggest . 1.) no back light 2.) way overpriced for what it looks and feels like material wise 3.) this is the biggest minus point, no replaceable battery! That is THE biggest fail, that is Apple-style business and should not be supported. They should learn and understand that this is bull you force the customer to buy a new product after it's battery dies which is in this time and age not acceptable. If they would sell them for $10 I could somehow understand but $40 for the display only and then another $10 for the sensor wire?

Didn't catch that yeah. Damn... Maybe I was hoping for the tach/temp/volt when I read it. I just gave them a great service review too. Disregard.... tsimi. Only a Volt/tach/hour gauge. ://www.trailtech.net/digital-gauges/tto Same link..But they do have a New line of products that are back lit. Might be pricey directly from trail tech but who knows other sites like Amazon or eBay might have them cheaper in the near future. Note:I've edited this about 3 times

I seen the new TTO's after I ordered the ones I reviewed. 50 clams, hour/tach/temp w/back lite. It would of been a done deal. @ the 5 year battery life expectancy id crack her open and see if I could replace the battery. Nothing to lose at that point if the battery is dead. You are contributing, that's all that matters .

I still plan on buying the temp/tach/hour one, but from what you've wrote it sounds like I might have to extend some wires.. Ah well, still way cheaper than a Trailtech. I'll be putting it on the BMX handlebars but I haven't really decided how or where on them. I guess I'll figure that out later.
When I was using my super cheapo tach/hour meter (Which BTW seems like it needs a new battery after ~1 year.) I just glued it onto the plastic over the gauges on the stock handlebars/dash. That was temporary though.

In their product banner it says "some models are backlit" lol is it that hard to get all of them backlit? Anyways as TC said once the battery is depleted just try to open it gently and see what kind of battery that is, maybe it can be replaced after all.

I am whoring myself out there, I DESIGNED A SPEEDO MOUNT FOR BMX BARS After printing it you detach the bottom piece by simply sawing off, cleaning up. Goes into the tube, a bolt squeezes the two pieces together and you can bolt/glue/pray the speedo on it. My results, cost me shy of 6$

Looks like just what I need. Would you sell one? Where are you from? CT. I'd pay maybe $15 including shipping, assuming you're in the US. (Unless that isn't a fair price.)
