On the ones shown here, no. On the Trail Tech, yes. 16-20" and it works fine. I would just make sure the wire used to extend is the same gauge or close to it.

Here is the temp/rpm gauge installed on the wife's 2001 Elite. I think it looks a little bulky on it, but it better than sitting in a box not being used.

Are you using the sensor it came with? one that attaches to the spark plug and whats the max temp that it has shown? Thanks No, The sensor(NTC) supplied with the gauge only goes to 302 deg. F. I had to purchase the raw(PT100) sensor which goes to 572 degrees and build my own spark plug adapter using 1/2 ring terminals that can be purchased just about anywhere. I had to drill it a tad larger to accept the 14mm plug. If you attempt, make sure you find sensors that has the insulation on the wires(mine didn't and had to solder better leads on)and I used JB weld to adhere the sensor to the to the ring terminal.(with a little crimping too) As for max temps, I don't ride her scooter much so not sure what the max temp were. The one time I did check on a ride I think they were around 250-275 range. The again her scoot engine is all stock and not ridden aggressively.

Did you ever get your trail tech spark plug adapter and try it with the gauge? I have a different multi gauge pretty close to what that is but this one has longer cables and the light stays on, mine though i can switch it to pt100 setting and it stays on that with the standard spark plug cable plugged in.
