Those wet cell motorcycle batteries are way too expensive. I just use sealed lead acid (SLA) batteries like the ones used in emergency lights and computer UPS units. I change my battery connectors to spade connectors and never look back.
I knew this post would be handy someday. The spade connectors are certainly faster for getting in and out, and batteries with the f1 or f2 terminals are less expensive also. I have a hunch the quality control is better for a UPS/emergency light batteries. I'm pretty sick of the quality of overseas electronics these days.

I forget which F1/F2 terminals are the 1/4" so I have to look it up every time (getting old is the shits, sometimes literally). The F1 is 3/16" 0.187" (4.75mm) wide and the F2 is 1/4" 0.250" (6.35mm) wide. On my scoot I use the F2, 1/4"wide terminals. You can get a variety of adapter terminals, to make multi-wire connections etc. I buy the biggest SLA battery I can get to fit my battery compartment.
You can get all types of battery accessories at the above site. Battery boxes, isolaters, chargers, plugs etc.
I buy F2 1/4" spade adapter terminals etc at my local auto parts store where I can SEE the actual part. I also mount a 12V power port (cigarette lighter type) on my scoot wired directly to the battery with 10A auto-reset breaker wired in-line with the positive lead. It is great for plugging in a charger, battery minder, tester, or 5V USB adapters for my electronics. Don't use a fuse or a fused 12V port, use the auto-reset breaker.
HINT: Save some $$$, some of those SLA batteries that have failed a self test in a UPS unit will work for many years in a scoot.

I bought a cheap GPS speedometer. Made for bicycles, but they suggest that it can be used for anything. I affixed the mount with a few screws. Runs on USB and figure I'll charge it once in a while. Cool thing is it has a backlight that you can easily toggle on/off, so it's going to make riding the red scoot much better at night, since the dash light is broke. I bought one and put it on the black scoot and I'll order another one for the red rocket. Seems to work ok on the test run around the neighborhood. Toggled to max speed setting in the garage to show display. Mainly bought to get a real-time sense of speeds over 40mph.

Took some scrap to the scrap yard today, got $39 dollars for it. I saw a tub (68lbs) of interesting aluminium scraps while there and made them mine for $60
