The new bike I just put together and is up for sale is possessed. When i pull either brake, ALL the lights light up. even the dash light. everything.
I have poured over everything and I cant find the problem.

Well, the brake light wiring is connected somewhere it shouldn't be either by poor design or a short I guess. I'm not sure of an easy way to find that other than tracing wires.

All my father and I can figure to do is to take BOTH bikes apart to compare them with each other since they are identical to find the problem. I like working on scoots but i sure dont like taking back apart 2 scoots that i just recently put together much less 1.
Just tracing wires on the one bike with the problem doesn't seem like it will solve the problem because it does everything it is supposed to do. if it had a problem like a turn signal not working or something that would be easy enough but since it does everything it should do PLUS this other thing, thats where the big problem comes in. Oh the joys of the Chinese electrical system. Well If I am gonna sell these then I better get to know them as well as I can because I am sure to see this problem again. keep me in your prayers lol

This is the rear light assembly ....as you can see..there was a screw going right into the bundle of wires.... If all your lights light up when you pull the brake...look for something like this....also the brake wire (in my case green with a yellow stripe) switched with green (ground) at the connector..this will make ground "hot" and will do the same thing the screw was doing.

Sharp eye you two. And typical Chinese assembly practice. A good friend of mine bought an ATV. We got it all put together and filled it up with fuel. Tried to start it, but no go. Seems that someone forgot to drill the plastic fuel tank bung.

Check the brake light bulb itself. Its a dual filament bulb, if the contacts from brake light filament is crossed with the running light filament, when you pull the brake lever there is now two sources of power for all the running lights. Not very common but its the easiest culprit and it is commonly overlooked. Be sure to inspect the bulb socket as well.
