Hey!
I kept pushing this for too long, it is some work to write these out....
Anyway, although not a scooter, I consider these engines in the same category.
50cc, super restricted, 6-speed. It is fun to ride around with 2hp and 6 speeds! Unrestricted pushed around 4-5. This is what they looke originally, although I had the 17" wheel version. Got it in 2003.
Rode the living crap out of it until 2006, started working on it. In 2008, the big build started.
Took it apart:
Adapted a fork bracket for a better fork and added some plastics, but this is basically everything that was left over from the original. (fuel tank not in pic)
Had custom Excel wheels made, as I used a KTM 640 front end by Whitepower.
BRAKING Germany sponsored me an amazin braking system including a factory style brake disk with carbon fiber core and a 16mm radial system
Jollymoto custom made an exhaust system for us. I am still in love up to this day.
Voila the end result
Was invited to several exhibitions
Was featured in magazines!
BUT, this was not a show bike. We rode it. AND HARD
Decloroing on the exhaust due to heat, also a magazine pic.
Dont judge, these were my first track days:
This is how it was supposed to be ridden, from my first Endurance race, two team members with more experience.
And a video of course:
TO THE STUFF THATS ON IT:
Let us separate it into two categories, engine and frame:
Frame:
Original Sherco frame and most plastics
Some YZ85 plastics and CR 125
KTM Whitepower Upside Down 48mm BIGASS fork
Talon hub and Excel Wheel in the front, rear an excel rim on original hub
Braking Carbonc ore disk
Braking 16mm Radial Master
Brembo 4 Piston caliper
Kundo KRD custom made adjustable shock absorber.
Renthal handlebars with some other thingies.
Engine:
Top Performance 44m stroke kit with 86cc
50mm bore on single piston ring
44mm stroke Crankshaft
Polini 5 disk clutch (HARD AS FUCK)
TopRacing Gearbox and Top Performance primary transmission
Vforce Reed valve
Dellorto VHST28mm carburator with later an e13 filter
custom made jollymoto exhaust
Custom made cooling system.
Different sprockets for track adjustment. As you can hear in this video, I run just about right on the start-finish.
The engine pulled around 23hp with gigantic torque (for those engines, gigantic). You could shift at any point and have power. Was not a top end build as many of the time, but... my buddy Fred REKT these guys on the track claiming to have over 30hp, so there is that (competing shop, which was quite funny...)
In Clastres, France, I was clocked with 156 km/h, just shy of 100mph.
