Hope it goes well bro hope you get well soon too, I worked for some fly by night guys and wonder how I've never been severally injured No doubt. This guy, has been in business for almost fifteen years, doing the same thing. IMHO, he has all the right hands greased. Even the state safety inspectors, will see the damages to the rig, and how he cobbled it together, and still pass it. Dude has four of these drills, and each one is more jacked up than the last.

The crane operator is still responsible for making sure his equipment is safe. The owner is ultimately responsible and needs to be investigated and cited by OSHA.
When you went to the hospital did you report the day and time etc of injury? That should be enough. People get injured all the time and try to avoid the witch doctors.

Well I hope all goes well with recovery. It'll take some time and be easy with it. Physical therapy hurts but it helps when they give you the okay. I just broke my wrist back in November last year, had to have surgery to put a titanium plate with pins in me (permanently) and my wrist-- it was a distal radius fracture in 3-4 places. They also operated on my carpal tunnel.
They gave me oxycodone (generic percocet). Lots of them, and even took ibuprofen on top of that. It hurt when I broke it pretty bad the first several days or week and maybe more after surgery a week later-- after the "epidural" for my whole arm wore off.
I still have some pain now and then and still have a ways to go with getting more movement back.
Once again, I hope it heals up nicely for you.
