Pretty good looking unit! For future trouble shooting I would ohm out the charge and pickup coils of a known good unit.

I've been racking my brain trying to figure out who makes this ignition because one of these days a part is sure to fail and good luck trying to find a replacement through Stage6 or R&D. So, after a couple hours of searching I found out that it's made by an Italian company called Vering. It appears that Vering is the poo in the high end karting world and mini bikes when it comes to digital ignitions. They also made an ignition for Polini for the AM6 motor. Cool beans! Anyhoo, now I'm not so worried about not being able to replace parts. Ignition for KZ kart motor For pit bike (not sure what motor).

Good find spaz12 it is surprising how much stuff is out there to other applications we can use. Even stuff like the racing cart air boxes is way more advanced than scooter stuff. I guess racing really does improve the breed! It's funny stuff like the RD/RZ 350 stuff has not been looked at by Yamaha for thee decades, yet the quad world is still coming out with new innovations that Yamaha could of only dreamed about in the 90's.

Speaking of air boxes, I have been trying to find one from the kart world that I can use on this build. I know that Polini made some and were available through scooter outlets, but I'll be damned if I can find one on a site now. You can bet though that I haven't stopped looking!

Looks awesome! Are there provisions for mounting a fan to the rotor? I saw water pump studs, but there looks like there may be bolt holes for a fan in your picture. I am about ready to buy a decent inner rotor setup. Anyone in the US stock it? On further inspection, you can NOT mount a fan to this ignition. Maybe if you put a hole in the center of the fan than it might be possible? Here are a few pictures to show the problem with mounting a fan This part sticks up which is used to remove the rotor from the crankshaft with a flywheel removal tool

This is a nice one for the tech section I've found even more about it but figured that there probably isn't much interest in this rotor.
